I have nothing but positive feedback regarding the front desk associate who checked us in. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. I appreciate that she did not make us feel rushed while capturing our card for incidentals. She made me feel appreciated.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself seems to be in decline. We were told check-in could be as early as 3 p.m., but after a busy holiday weekend, we decided to arrive after 4. The front desk associate apologized profusely while explaining that our room needed more time to be cleaned. She offered to call or text us once the housekeepers finished, and suggestions of places to visit in Old Town while we waited. We understand things happen and the hotel associate did everything one could reasonably expect of someone in her position.
Much of the hotel seems in need of repair and finer attention to detail. Our room did meet most of the reasonable expectations one would have for a budget hotel room, and I appreciate the extra effort to leave the towels on a playful bow shape. However, other things were missed: an odd stain on the door, and several more on the walls. I managed to get most of the stains with my make-up remover but the one on the door should come off with cleaner. The linens, from the towels to the pillows, were clean and functional; however, they were not particularly comfortable and I did not sleep well as a result.
