VERY VERY UNHAPPY

We checked in at 5:00pm and out an hour later because we were unable to get the front desk clerk to resolve some major issues. I have asked them for a full refund. The desk clerk said she had no authority to help us and that the manager was home asleep. We had asked to be moved to another room and were refused and told they were booked full. You still had rooms available on your site. We were told there would be no manager available on site until Tuesday. So in a large hotel that was supposed to be completely full there would be no manager for 2 days. We have stayed here at least 25 times through the years. For a Wyndham class hotel and taking it from someone with travel and hospitality professional experience, this was unacceptable and the person left in charge was incompetent and was making up excuses and telling flat out falsities as we spoke. She clearly lacked training.

The hotel is old and 1/2 is no longer used. We were there for a week. There is a small sign at checkin that says customers must ask before 4:30 the day before if they want a room cleaned or clean towels or trash emptied. But because the garage exits are not near the front desk, who would know this? Beds are comfortable and the maid was accommodating about my taking coffee packets and clean towels. No microwave in room. The restaurant next door has generous excellent breakfast.

Older hotel in need of upgrades, but...the BEACH!

I love to stay at Rockaway when working in the bay area - it's worth the extra drive to have such a beautiful coast to explore at the start and end of each work day. The property is older and in need of maintenance, especially the exterior. There was sand on the carpet so cleanliness is questionnable. I also could not get the internet to work in the room and had to spend the first couple of hours of my stay on the phone with the ISP troubleshooting, until eventually the lady at the front desk gave me a different room. This is something you definitely should check before settling in. The hotel itself wouldn't meet my usual standards, especially for business travel where I need to stay connected. But the location and the staff made up for that. Also the restaurant/bar was such a special experience, highly recommend.

Great view for a good value

The room had an amazing view but was old and outdated. It was still clean but it just looked old. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room but overall, we still enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The value is there.

My reservation was canceled by the new computer system. Staff was incapable of quickly fixing the problem. I waited over an hour for the “new “ night staff member to finally give me a room. Then when I went to check out they had over charged me by $145.00. I had to wait again while they tried to fix the issue. Horrible staff!

Great place to stay! The location is amazing, right on the ocean and Mori point trail. The outside looks a little run down but the rooms are nice, big, and updated. The elevator is a little scary but they got stairs! Overall great ocean stay.

The hotel was very close to the beach, and that is where the good things end. I've stayed at alot of Wyndham Hotels and this one was a huge let down they completely miss represented themselves. We booked our room for 7 days, when we went to but our clothes away there were 3 small drawers when I asked about a dresser I was told the hotel has an open air motto, so just hang your things.
