This was quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To begin with we all felt very unsafe. There were lots of people hanging around in the car park and a strong smell of weed (I appreciated it’s legal in California, but still not nice). We had rooms at the back of the hotel and was told the train noise would be quieter, however it sounded like it was coming through the room! This went on until 23.30 and started again at 5am. This along with arguments/shouting coming from several rooms, loud music being played in cars in the car park beneath and the noise of the wholesale food market in full swing at 2am in the morning made sleeping impossible. Finally breakfast was extremely basic and consisted of 2 containers of cereal, some odd bits of bread and coffee. There were no pastries or fruit. The breakfast room itself was sparse and we felt very uncomfortable, so decided not to stay.

The ac/heating unit in our room had a mind of it's own. It worked part-time. The rooms are not insulate enough to drown out noise from surrounding rooms and hallways. Management didn't care to stop a fight/argument that occured in the wee hours of the morning. Other than that it's not a bad spot for the money!

The front desk people were nice but the hotel room and property was not. I knew it wasn’t in the best area when I booked it, but I didn’t realize it was located right next to a train! Guess I should have read the reviews first!

Just like my ex boyfriend..

There was no hot water during our stay at Jack London. The front desk agent failed to notify us during our check in. We didn’t realized that there wasn’t any hot water running until i stood under the water for 20 minutes hoping that maybe.. just maybe there will be some miracle or something that can miraculously warm my cold cold relaxing shower. Then just like my ex boyfriend, a very hard slap of disappointment and sadness of worthlessness and a freezing shower

Dear Expedia Customer Service, I am writing to share my concerns about my recent stay at the Jack London Hotel, which I booked through your platform. I stayed there for 4 days, and while the front desk workers were kind, my overall experience was disappointing and not as advertised. Here are some issues I encountered: 1. No housekeeping service was provided during my entire stay, even though I was there for several days. 2. The listing on Expedia stated that breakfast was included, but the only items provided were cold cereal, yogurt, and apples. This was very different from what I expected. 3. On the first day, I was grateful to receive some breakfast items for my baby. On the second day, I politely asked if I could take a small amount again because my baby eats slowly. The manager allowed it, but another staff member made me feel embarrassed by saying what I took was “too much”—even though it was just 2 small bowls of cereal, an apple, and 2 small cartons of milk. 4. After that experience, I felt so uncomfortable and ashamed that I didn’t return for breakfast the next two days. As a single mother traveling with a baby, I was hoping for a safe and respectful environment, but this experience left me upset and disappointed. I would appreciate it if Expedia could review this listing and hotel practices, as it did not match the quality or honesty expected from your platform. If possible, I would also appreciate a partial refund or credit for the inconvenience.Thank you!

Right next to Jack London Square which has many dining options and 5 minute walk to ferry to San Francisco. Rooms are clean with a fridge. Free parking. The lobby and public areas need a remodel. Not the best area to the east and the noise from the Amtrak trains is loud. Breakfast needs improvement.

Amazing overall!

I really enjoyed our stay here! Yes the train might be an issue if you are a light sleeper but it wasn’t too bad! The room was nice and clean! Front desk people were so sweet! I felt safe leaving during the day and walking around Jack London so beautiful with nice views! Took the ferry to San Fran, went to the fox theatre did a lot of nice things while our stay!
