The staff was professional, friendly and kind. The rooms are impeccable, clean, cozy. It is easy to get around town, both wharves and beach are within walking distance as well as downtown, shops and restaurants.

Smartest Stay in Monterey for GS Theater show!

We were so happy we decided to stay at The Stevenson for a show at Golden State Theater. It s an easy 5 minute walk to the show & we had a great meal & beers across the street at Alvarado Brewery! The hotel is older but very comfortably updated. Front desk staff were awesome… friendly & extremely helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Spend $ 50 and buy a Microwave

Overall it s an OK hotel but putting a safe box in the place where a microwave should be above a refrigerator is terrible idea.

Clean and comfortable, no bells and whistles

Clean, efficient. No bells and whistles but the bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was clean. We didn’t have any issues so didn’t need service but the person at check in was nice. I didn’t realize you had to ask to have bed made and room tidied by the night before so when we came back to an unmade room the first day I was surprised. There is a note referring to this but I didn’t see it so that was my mistake. There wasn’t onsite parking for us because our vehicle was too tall (f-250 truck) to go to underground parking but we found free street parking easily and close for each night.

The staff was amazing here & accommodating. The room was clean & comfortable for the price point. We would stay here again. Only slight complaint was the pool temp was too cold for even our teens who were looking forward to swimming. The area was nice, safe, & easy to get to & from attractions.

After a terrible hotel experience in Pismo Beach we arrived a day early and asked to see a room before we stayed an extra night here. Craig was thoughtful enough to show us a room that was remodeled and clean. We were relieved! We’ve stayed at all levels of hotels and this is a nice property at an affordable rate. We now have a new go to hotel in Monterey!! Very short walk to everything you’d need, even a Trader Joe’s, Rosine’s for a delicious sit down meal (ate breakfast and lunch here), Red’s Donuts, Revival for yummy ice cream, Walgreen’s, Chipotle, Panda Express, and the wharf. Visit Old Fishermen’s Grotto for the best clam chowder! Buying a bread bowl to go outside saves you $10, but requesing a window seat for sit down dining is nice. All dishes we’ve eaten there in the past have been A . Thanks so much Craig, and we look forward to staying at your hotel again!
