The only good thing was the location. Rooms very basic and lack of technology. We stayed in a room for handicapped people, because it was the only option between 6 that they showed us, that one was the most decent of all of them. It had just the bed, 2 night stands and the TV, only one heavy curtain was covering the window and we had to keep it close for privacy because the windows from the building next door was very close. Lack of lighting in the shower and besides we was to pay $20 extra per night for bed upgrade. Terrible experience. Never come back.

The hotel was conveniently located in the touristy area of Monterey so if you like that it's a good deal. But the hotel itself is worn down and needing an update. It IS clean though and feels safe. The staff were friendly and professional too.

Cool old property but it is really showing its age. The door to our room was difficult to open, there were stains on the carpet and some of the furniture has seen better days. That being said the room and bathroom were clean and perfectly functional and the loaction can;t be beat.

Great

Great location with easy free Trolley service, 2.5 blocks from Starbucks and fine dining Cibo(fabulous). Since valet parking is $30/daily, I used the wonderful trolley to get around. Staff was very welcoming and polite. The only downside, for me, was the super early morning (5:40a, 6:30a 2nd morning)loud noises…construction? housekeeping moving all kinds of furniture? I really enjoyed how close it was to everything I wanted to see.

Nice location and good service.

Overall everything with our stay went well. We were in the older side of the hotel, which is a bit dated, but not different than we expected. The room was small but clean and everything was in good working order. We were a bit concerned about parking options as we were hoping not to valet, and once we arrived the front desk provided us with nearby parking options. We parked on the street overnight (free for 90 minutes and from 6pm-9am). For the second night we parked in a lot about a block away, which was also free from 6pm-9am, and you could pay using the Park Mobile App, which made covering daytime hours conveinent and reasonable. It is in the heart of downtown which makes it an easy walk to local eateries and the wharf. Since we were there on a Tuesday, there was even a farmers market right outside in the evening.

Hotel is old, staff is not friendly. One great employee helped up with our bags to the room. The place was dirty the room door latch is unsafe.
The latch for the hotel rooms door is broken and unsafe.
