Very Unsatisfied

First, They put me in a handicap room that I did not request and in the back of the property. Next, the TV did not work and there were ants in the bathroom. I did not ask for a refund, I just turned in the key and left.

Overall this was a safe and clean property. Room was smaller than it looked online, but was clean and mostly updated. Bed was comfortable. Furniture was pretty ragged and showing major signs of wear. TV would not work - no signal.

Not safe, dirty and rude customer service.

Not a safe place to stay! Housekeeping barged into my room in the morning while I was still sleeping and the do not disturb sign was clearly hanging on the door. It was an hour before checkout time. I went and spoke to the front desk and before I could finish describing what happened, the lady started making excuses and started arguing and yelling at me. Not listening, just cut me off and made excuses. At one point she even said "oh they usually don't just walk into someone's room like that". Guess that means they do sometimes! Incredibly rude and disrepectful customer service. Room was also pretty dirty, which I expected from the other reviews but didn't realize it would be this bad. Also not enough parking space so people had to park on the street. One of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. Even worse customer service.

The room was clean. It met our needs for the night. The parking lights were very bright, which made it difficult to have a dark room for sleeping. Better window coverings would have helped. Monterey is damp and chilly. The heating unit was noisy, but not disruptive, just not quiet which would have made for a more restful stay.

The location was quiet, and within walking distance of downtown Monterey. The room was located above the pool, and there was a slight chlorine smell inside the room when first arriving, but was not noticeable returning to the room each night. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, and it appeared most finishes in the room had been recently updated. A mini fridge/freezer and microwave in-room was very convenient. The water pressure in the shower was not great, and the inside of the door peephole was missing with the hole stuffed with tissue. Overall, my stay was comfortable and the location was convenient.

It was a great room for the price. Check-in was quick. We did not have any issues with parking. We had a room that was away from a lot of other rooms and right by the office, so we did not have any issues with noise. There is an indoor pool available, but we did not use it as we had a lot of activities planned. There was a fridge and a microwave available as well as a kuerig. There were a few things that were bothersome. The bed would make a loud clanging noise when we sat on it or stood up on the left side. The pillows were very flat. The water did have an odd smell.

Close to Monterey Aquarium

Stayed 3 nights and it was close to Monterey Aquarium. The room was comfortable and the suite was a good choice with kids. The view is not great when looking down. Only disappointed thing about this hotel was the pool was cold and the jacuzzi was not hot at all. There was NO communication and that wasn’t okay.
