The staff was very helpful and extra friendly! The hotel location is beautiful. The rooms weren’t the cleanest, but it wasn’t too bad. I would definitely stay again! Especially for such a great price right with an ocean view!

Quaint but lacking quality for the price point

From the location and photos we really had a different idea of where we were staying for the weekend. Although a convenient beach front property that's close to both downtown Dana Point and San Clemente, the suites are a bit aged making them a bit overpriced. Room was spacious but showed showed obvious signs of age which need upgrading. Furnishings were a toss up....table, chairs, couch were all uncomfortable, but the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Parking was convenient. Location great, it just needs a bit of up dating. Staff professional and helpful. *Tried to load photos but for some reason app would not accept them?

The property is older and across the beach which can be reached from an overcrossing on PCH. Be in good health to do that though, as there is a fair number of steps. They have an underground parking garage that costs $10 per night of your stay, which for what one pays for a "premium room" I'm taken back somewhat. The view from the room was as advertised as we had a ocean view. Room size was comfortable, but aside from the bed and TV's, furniture was outdated. Room acoustics are questionable, as PCH is right in front of the hotel and traffic is constant, except for most of the overnight hours. There is also a train track adjacent to the beach, which around midevening when the freight train passes, you will feel the room shake like a mild earthquake. (Our room was on the second floor). The best part of the room was the view from the balcony, as we could enjoy the ocean views from there. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. Hard boiled eggs, dry and wet cereals, make your own waffles from a batter, and some fruit and danishes. One of the employees that assisted us throughout our stay, Carlos was very friendly and helpful. That made a impression on us, as customer service is always important. For the price of the room, I would perhaps consider another Motel, based mostly on the "aged rooms and the traffic noise" But understanding when you are looking for an ocean view stay, you will pay a premium in most places.

Liked the view from the room. Didn't like that the beach was so hard to acess because of construction. Staff was great Frank and DJ really tried their best to help throughout all out mishaps.

The room is clean, but the air conditioner and refrigerator are quite old and noisy. To have a quiet environment, you'll need to turn off the air conditioner, refrigerator, and bathroom fan. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. There is no room cleaning service for a two-night stay. However, the location is excellent with a beautiful view.

Water leaking

We were told that we would be reimbursed for half of our stay. The room was somewhat dingy, and at around 3:30 a.m., the fire sprinkler in the bathroom started leaking, soaking all of our belongings. We were then moved from an ocean view room to a semi-ocean view room. Although we were told it was an upgrade, the only real difference was that the new room was larger because it had two beds instead of one.

Overall a good experience

The hotel was pleasant overall, and I would recommend it despite a few issues. One major drawback was the thin ceilings, which allowed significant noise from the room above us. We were woken up on both nights of our stay—on the first night from 3:30 AM to 7:00 AM, and on the second night from midnight to around 1:30 AM—due to very loud guests upstairs. This was quite disruptive. On a positive note, the staff working Friday and Saturday were friendly and accommodating, which enhanced our experience. However, the staff member on duty Sunday morning was noticeably different. He came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming, and it felt like he wasn’t suited for a customer-facing role. It would be great if the hotel could ensure a consistent level of friendliness across all staff. Despite these challenges, I still found the stay enjoyable overall and would consider returning in the future.

Front desk super nice. Room needs updating. Housekeeping aside the walls, doors were damaged. Arrived to a very dirty room: floor, cabinets, shower. Had to request a cleaning. Breakfast was ok. Waffle maker, cereal, coffee, pastries, oatmeal packets, boiled eggs, milk & OJ. No laundry. Parking fee $10/day.

This property is more for those who have to stay in Dana Point or else wont suggest it. It is pretty far from everything and Newport beach and laguna beach are a better option as far as being close to the attractions and hotels as well as restaurants The property itself was nice and the staff were also very accommodating however the room we booked stated it is ocean view but it really wasn't there was a side view of the street and could barely see the ocean Also there was no shower gel and when we asked the front desk they looked but couldnt find anything The room itself however was nice. The breakfast was very minimal and not many options
