I booked this motel for my family who were visiting Auckland to spend Christmas with me, and I was hoping to find somewhere close to the ocean, as we all love the beach. From the moment I made the booking, the motel owner contacted me and suggested a suite with separate sleeping areas, which was perfect for our family and gave us extra space. The owner and staff could not have been more helpful — they even allowed early access so I could decorate the suite for Christmas and surprise my family. The motel is just a few minutes from a beautiful beach and a lovely café, both of which we visited many times during our stay. This place is incredibly welcoming and relaxed, truly a home away from home. We loved everything about it and will definitely be returning again and again. I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was a wonderful experience, and we will always cherish the special memories we made here. Thank you so much xx

A very good option for the price. Obviously, you are not getting a 5 star hotel, but you are paying a very reasonable price for a place that is clean, spacious, cost to the beach, and with lots of dining options nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful. You will need a long cable for USB charging as this is an older style motel without power outlets near the beds/chairs.

Room is quite dated, need some revival. Bathroom wasn't clean. Dirty all around the skirts with dead little flies, shower was very dirty on the titles and corners, you could feel the grease when passing the fingers on it. Wouldn't stay again.

All my needs were met… the unit had all appliances etc, great cafes within 200 m, beautiful park and playground within 400 m and the beach only 100 m away. Felt very safe and so easy to park right outside my door. Also dog friendly. My host was extremely welcoming and pleasant. Definitely will go back.

We loved the location so close to the beach. The neighbourhood is pleasant and felt safe. Access to the garden and a small outside area with table and chairs was very pleasant. The motel is clearly from a bygone era – this added some quirky charme, on the other hand despite some modernisations the place is fairly tired and needs a lot of tlc. While the place is mostly clean, there were small ants, and some missed dirt in hard to reach places. The hot water pressure was very low and made for a decisively disappointing shower experience. The friendly and welcoming manager sort of makes up for the shortcomings with her friendliness but there's only so much she can do.
