My friend and I enjoyed our stay at The Chancellor. The staff are helpful and our room was clean with nice shampoo and soap provided. The hotel is within walking distance of the ferry harbour, train station, shopping mall and supermarkets. :)

Room 220 really needs immediate maintenance. There’s mould on the bathroom ceiling and in the tiles and grout, along with peeling paint, a dirty shower curtain, cracked tiles, and even tape on part of the rotten floor. It’s disappointing, especially given the rate — around $200 per night when booked directly. The room is small and hasn’t been properly maintained for years (I know since I’ve stayed here before), which is a real letdown. On the positive side, the location is fantastic — very close to the city centre. However, you do get some street noise, so light sleepers might find it disruptive. The staff were very friendly, and I appreciated the gym, pool, and in-room kitchenette. Overall, the hotel has potential, but the cleanliness and maintenance issues really need attention. I wouldn’t value this room at more than $150–$160 per night in its current condition. Just a little tip if you’re coming with a car parking is a lot cheaper in the parking building close to the Rydges hotel 2 mins walk away.

Lovely staff. So friendly and helpful. I got the room option with parking and an arrival gift of wine and chocolate with a pair of towel origami swans and rose petals. It made me feel very special.

Spa, sauna, swimming pool are good. Front staff is friendly and helpful. Room card doesnt work to enter the gym/pool place- everytime needed to go to the reception. Bathroom smells wet and damp. The tiles on the bathroom, black mouldy. The window needs to be cleaned. Overall, this room we stayed needs to be updated.

Great and convenient stay. The only downside was the shower. It was nice and firm but was over a small bathtub with a shower curtain and sprayed everywhere uncontrollably even when holding it by hand. It was impossible to use it on the stand.

We had a lovely stay here. We picked it because it was walkable distance to Skycity theatre. The room was nice enough with a big comfy bed. The grouting in the bathroom could use a good scrub and quite a few stains on the carpet. Overall it was a good place to stay for a night if going to an event as we didn't spend a lot of time in the room anyway and everything else looked clean. The shower has great water pressure too. We enjoyed the pool/spa and sauna in the morning and these facilities were clean and just what we needed after a late night. Check out being at 10am meant we didn't need to rush in the morning and could enjoy these facilities. There is a Wilson parking lot maybe 200m from the reception which is handy although expensive. Thanks for having us!
