After more options? Live it up like a rockstar in Koganei (just try not to trash the joint). Sitting 16 kilometres away and home to the Suginami Science Museum and the Suginami Animation Museum, it's sure to be a journey to remember! Or, you could consider staying in Kokubunji, 18 kilometres to the southwest of Shiki, where you can pick from the Marroad Inn Tokyo and Hotel Continental. Should you choose to stay in Kokubunji, set aside a little time to visit the Ghibli Museum and Musashiseki Park.

Sitting 35 kilometres southeast of Shiki is Urayasu, a regional hub with a population of 140,000. It's where you'll find some sweet attractions, like Urayasushi Park, Urayasu Comprehensive Park and Gyotoku Bird Observatory. Wakashio Park and the Urayasu City Folk Museum are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some choice photo ops. The Hotel Dream Gate Maihama and Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay are just a couple of recommended hotel options in Urayasu.

Ever had to spend a night on the cold airport floor cos you got waayyy too excited and forgot to book your hotel? Save yourself some stiff limbs and grab a room at the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu or the Royal Park Hotel THE Haneda. Both are pretty close to Haneda Airport, which is just 35 kilometres from Shiki's centre.
