"Great hotel for location and price"
I've stayed at Fraser Place several times and have been very happy. It's in a great location in the city, close to everything, but without loud street noise. The hotel is very new, modern and clean. The rooms are a good size with good facilities. Sometimes the staff can be a little cold, borderline rude. For the price and location it's hard to beat.

"Good location. Cheap parking!"
Chose this hotel for its cheap, secure city parking. Room was basic but that was expected given the low cost of our stay. The hotel was not as far from the bars and cafes as we had thought, 20 minute walk can get you to any of the tourist attractions, laneways ect.

"Nice Hotel Everything Is Nearby "
The room was nice, with a modern feel. Staff are friendly and willing to help. The only let down is there is no hotel room service, instead a local restaurant delivers to to your door, the food was not at the same level as the hotel.

    History

Since its days as a tiny settlement in the 1830s, Melbourne has expanded and blossomed into the vibrant multi-cultural city it is today. Two of the most historic precincts in Melbourne include Victoria Harbour at Docklands and Flinders Street Station. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Melbourne Museum - where you'll find Phar Lap's heart – and Australia's oldest prison, the Melbourne Gaol, where Ned Kelly and other famous bushrangers were held.

    Things to Do

A great place to start your Melbourne adventure is Federation Square, where you can flit between the Australian Centre for Moving Image and the Ian Potter Centre: National Gallery of Victoria, which are right across from one another. In the square itself, there's always something on, whether it's a fashion parade, exhibition or a street performance. You're bound to be entertained here.

Animal lovers should make a beeline for the Melbourne Zoo and the Melbourne Aquarium, while sports fanatics can grab some tickets to an event at the MCG or Docklands Stadium. For a bit of surf and sand, head to the St Kilda Beach and then have some fun at Luna Park.

    Annual Events

The Melbourne Cup in November is without a doubt the biggest event of the year, but the Australian Open in January, the International Comedy Festival in March/April and the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in March are also noteworthy, so, if you’re planning a date with your mates, plan your break accordingly.

    Shopping, Dining and Nightlife

Max out your credit cards along Chapel Street, Collins Street, Howey Place, Elizabeth Street and Bridge Road or navigate your way around the little laneways and arcades that are brimming with quirky boutiques and trendy cafes. On the other hand, if market shopping is what you're after, make sure you hit up the famous Queen Victoria Markets in North Melbourne.

After all that shopping, you can refuel in the well-known coffee districts of St Kilda, Fitzroy and Lygon Street, or sit down for a fancy meal in Southbank.

In the evening, you can try your luck at the Crown Casino in South Yarra or party like there's no tomorrow in one of the pumping nightclubs in the Melbourne CBD. You'll also find plenty of laid-back watering holes and up-market cocktail bars around the place, if that's more your style.

    Getting Here and Around

After your flight to Melbourne check out our hotels near Melbourne Airport. Once you've arrived, you'll find it's a breeze to get around on the excellent public transport system of trains, buses and trams.

So don't hold off on one of the most cultured and sophisticated holidays of a lifetime. Book your Melbourne accommodation with us now and get ready to enjoy every lastminute of shopping, wining and dining in this heritage-rich city.
