Bed was comfy, shower had great pressure & easy to get the temp just right. Aside from that, completely underwhelming stay & really not even that great price wise. Rooms were clean but not well maintained & cold even after adjusting temperature settings. I had to ask at reception for teaspoons that had been overlooked when room was made up. Reception staff lacked customer service skills, response to teaspoon request was “did you look in the cupboard where the cups are?” before begrudgingly getting plastic spoons for tea/coffee making. Pool needed maintenance, didn’t even bother getting in it after looking at it. Sauna looked nice, just not my thing. Thanks but no thanks for future stays.

The room was great. More spacious than I anticipated for a solo traveller. Location perfect with public transportation right outside. Grocery store, shopping, beer store/liquor store, bus, train and police station literally out the front door. Felt very safe. My only downside was the internet connection was non existent in my room. The lobby was the only place I could get consistent service. Family had great difficulty getting in touch with me and that was a problem. I’m from Canada and with the time difference it did exasperate that situation. And the front desk computer had me checked out before I actually had so that was a problem. But that’s my only complaint about the hotel. Otherwise this hotel was perfect for where I wanted to be.

The location is excellent but not having any aircon for three nights was terrible. We were told someone was on site to fix it but it wasn’t fixed. Very disappointing. Weren’t offered another room in the tower that did have aircon. We were given a small fan which helped but didn’t deal with the 27/8 degree room temperature.

Heat wave inside and out

Informed at check in that the hotel was experiencing problems with the air conditioning. Our room was 29 degrees when we arrived. We reset it and waited for 30 minutes before reporting that the temp had not dropped. Ultimately 3 calls resulted in 3 visits by a staff member, to no avail. When we asked for a different room we were told that none were available. We were given a fan. Other unacceptable conditions: Breakfast items at 9 am included beans, about one large serving spoon of eggs, bread, juice and about two serving spoons of yogurt, as well as cereal. There did not appear to be an effort to add the warm items. Mattress is too soft. No shower mat so we had to sacrifice a hand towel. No shower soap other than the small hand soap disc

Went out for the evening with airconditioning left running to try and cool a warm room. Came back several hours later to find room at 26 degrees. Rang Reception to be told the whole building's aircon is out and won't be looked at until next day. Would have been nice to have been notified about this. A portable fan was offered and accepted, but too noisy to leave running overnight. No compensation offered for an uncomfortable night, just a brief apology. Have used this hotel in the past, but won't anymore.

Convenient location

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and super-convenient. Parking had a daily charge, but that is understandable in a city centre. It included in/out privilege, so that was good. The hotel is literally a block from the Southern Cross train station, so was convenient to all transit.

Great place for the value

Staff were very friendly and helped on any thing we needed. Covenient location. Close to many restaurants and trams on the door step. We would stay here in our next trip.
