Puerto Rico Accommodation with Pool

Rooms weren’t ready at time of check in, there was no cold water in the sink, front desk (weirdly on second floor instead of immediately walking in at front door) ran out of stickers to validate parking and still charged the card on file for parking even though we paid at the station. Called the number for the hotel and reached a corporate number who told us they wouldn’t refund us for parking because we “weren’t overcharged” and then transferred us to the hotel that won’t answer. Would not recommend this hotel.

I had reserved two rooms and had called the hotel directly the week prior to request that the rooms be on the same floor if not next to one another and at check in, I was given keys for one and told that the second had to be cleared by housekeeping and that I would be notified soon. 2 hours later, when I went to check on the status, I was told "you already checked in" and when I said I don't have my keys to the second room, I was given a room 2 FLOORS AWAY from the original room and was told there was nothing that could be done until days later... you would think that if I am requesting rooms on the same reservation and with the call that they would at least put them on the same floor!

This hotel was in a great location and has a beautiful view. We booked the bi-level premium suite and really expected it to blow us away for the price. It was nice, but very dated. The carpet was old (and still wet on the stairs when we first arrived), you need two people to open the sliding glass doors on the balcony, the pictures show a sink in the kitchenette but there isn't one, and the refrigerator was one of the smallest ones I've seen. The tiles were cracked in the master shower, and the hot water heater is bipolar. In the morning you can barely cut it on before it burns you, but by the afternoon, you can't get it hot at all. I didn't notice when booking that there is an additional $50 per day resort fee that will be added to your bill. Unlike most Hiltons, you also do not receive a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast buffet is $35 per person. There are a good variety of restaurants on site, but they are also pricey. There are several local restaurants around that are great quality and more affordable, but we were told that we couldn't bring any outside food to the pool area. They literally check your bookbag every time you go to the pool for glass, speakers, and outside food. The first 2 being understandable, but this means you are stuck ordering off their poolside menu that includes a $24 burger and $20 grilled chicken sandwich. There are plenty of chairs which was nice compared to some resorts. Overall, we had a great time, but I wouldn't rebook at this hotel.

I really appreciated the complimentary meditation session with Ruth and we also really appreciated the helpfulness and service and overall niceness of our waiter, Louis or Lewis, at the Grill by the Pool. The pizza at your Italian restaurant was fantastic. Some of the best we have ever had, including in Naples.
