Overall my stay at El Conquistador was okay. Pros: I enjoyed how unique the property was and thought the pool and food was amazing. The Check in process went pretty smooth and the deposit per night was fairly reasonable. Also if you happen to stay on the resort I’d suggest you take their free ferry to Palomino Island and enjoy a day at the beach. Cons: The resort is kinda far from nightlife downtown so I’d take that into consideration because a round trip to downtown can easily range from 60-100 bucks. Also I experienced an issue where me and my girlfriend was enjoying a night out downtown and apparently front desk was trying to contact my room. While coming back to the resort we just happened to run into 5-6 security staff members that entered our room while we were gone. Upon asking them what was the reason they simply said to go speak to someone in front desk about a “billing issue”. Long story short we charged a few drinks to the room and it exceeded our deposit by 44 dollars so they demanded that if we didn’t pay that, they would lock us out of our room even though we didn’t check out yet. This left us with a sour taste in our mouths and we were very uncomfortable during our last night because we didn’t know what they were searching for inside of our room. Make sure you leave all valuables inside the safe because you never know who is entering and exiting your room during your stay!

El conquistador is a private getaway on the East Coast of Puerto Rico. Once there you would not need to leave. They have shops, food, a private island, a water park, and plenty of pools to relax near. The resort is absolutely stunning beautiful. There is not much to do nearby Al conquistador, but if you're looking for a private, quiet trip, this is perfect. If you want more of nightlife, stay near San Juan. Otherwise you'll need a car to get back and forth. It's about an hour drive. We had an issue with our hotel room the first night. The air conditioning not working. They moved moved us right away and gave us a credit on our bill. The staff is so extremely kind and nice. There was some confusion with parking and I really wish they would fix the gates or give you some kind of key to get in and out. It really is frustrating to park there. This is my second stay to El conquistador and I would absolutely return, I felt like royalty staying there.

The property is beautiful, the rooms were clean and there was plenty of places to dine. I enjoy the convenience of staying at the resort and having access to Palomino Island, it was great getting a ferry at no additional cost to and from the island directly to the resort. A wonderful place to stay with family.

Ahhhmazing property! Very clean, posh and welcoming! The location was excellent for excursions and the hotel has a small island via ferry for guests to enjoy the beach. They also had the playoff NFL games on a big screen for sports fans which was very appreciated
