Frances, the staff member who greeted and checked us in, went above and beyond to provide truly exceptional service. Her professionalism, and willingness to provide as much information as possible about the resort and its amenities and recommendations for us to explore during our time in Puerto Rico made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived.

The El San Juan Hotel was once a premiere property. Known as the "Jewel" of the Caribbean. They took pride in all areas of the hotel. But now it is quite disappointing. The disregard for their appearance, and the level disrepair and neglect was appalling. The elevator doors were in need of refresh. The room we were given was awful. First it had an overwhelming moldy smell, the carpets were dirty, the curtians had mold and dirt, and the bathroom door had chipping paint, and layers of dust, the vent also had chipping paint. And the toilet wasn't flushing properly. Lastly the uniforms provided to the employees were atrocious and unkept. In my opinion it is overpriced. You get charged an additional $60 daily room resort fee and in addition as a guest are required to pay $30 daily parking fee on top of what we had already paid. It is supposed to be a high end resort but what we found was more like a motel six. The only exception was the staff, they were amazingly friendly and genuinely cared for the service they provided. As a former resident of Puerto Rico and quite familiar with the old standards of El San Juan Hotel I genuinely mortified that this is how we are represented. Thank you

Awesome beach front resort. Had a few unauthorized charges to my credit card I had to dispute with my credit card but other than that it was a great stay

We had such a memorable stay at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel! We decided to upgrade to a poolside villa for just a bit more, and it was absolutely worth it, the convenience and vibe were everything. The resort itself is stunning. Between the beautiful pools, direct beach access, and the elegant lobby with live music in the evenings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights for us was the breathtaking 300 year old Banyan tree on the property truly a sight to see and a reminder of the rich history here. The hotel has really thought of everything. From floaties, beach balls, and volleyballs by the pool, to complimentary sunscreen and even mosquito spray, every little detail was covered. Honestly, our entire stay felt like a dream. My family didn’t want to leave, and we’re already talking about when we’ll be back. Highly recommend!

The lobby area is outstanding. The staff is very polite, friendly and helpful. This is the third time we stay here. We did notice the room and areas are not being kept up as they used to before it changed ownership. Kudos to Nasheli in the pool area!
