Disappointing Cleanliness in Otherwise Quiet Stay
I stayed at the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport last night and while the location and design were promising, the overall experience fell short due to cleanliness and comfort issues.
The room appeared superficially modern but was clearly not properly cleaned. Dust was visible on surfaces like the top of the TV, and both bedside tables had sticky residues that suggested they hadn’t been wiped down. Slippers were missing, and the wardrobe floors had debris that should’ve been addressed. The bathroom was particularly unpleasant, with strands of hair from previous guests and a used makeup container left behind.
The mattress was extremely firm, which made sleeping difficult. Worse still, the bedding only covered half the bed (lower half) and was so thin that I was freezing throughout the night. For a premium airport hotel, this level of discomfort was unexpected.
Despite being right at the airport, the room was impressively quiet. The hotel’s design is sleek and modern, and the building itself is in good condition.
Overall, while the location and aesthetics are strong, the lack of basic cleanliness and comfort made this stay disappointing. I hope management takes these issues seriously, as the potential is there, but the execution needs work.
