Won't stay here again.

Pretty run down property. Loud plumbing knocks at random times. Pool and elevator both broken during our stay. Signs taped up with blue tape seemed sloppy and symbolic of the overall condition of property. Dirty yoga mat and a shirts on the floor of the workout room? Yuck.

The hotel was under construction, and the rooftop pool— a major reason for choosing this hotel— was closed with no notice or provision/compensation. The front of the hotel under construction was just aesthetic, but the closed pool was definitely dissatisfactory.

The property was very clever with the photos which gave an impression of the property that was much nicer than in actuality as the actuality was much colder, noisier in the common areas and much less inviting. On top of that the pool and hot tub were closed for construction and that fact was not made clear when booking. This construction appeared to be long term and in process for an extended period, so this was not a recent issue. In fact, although the scaffolding etc was up no work seemed to take place at all. In any event, I would definitely not stay at this location again and would avoid La Quinta hotels in general.

I liked the hotel and the staff. My complaints are about guests talking loudly when other guests may be sleeping. Also, the guests in the room above me stomping around their room which kept me awake. Think the walls and ceiling are not insulated.

Everything was broken. The pool and spa were empty and closed. The main elevator didn’t work and the front doors were broken and permanently wide open. The advertised restaurant and bar are actually next door and not operated by the hotel and closed at 9 PM. The staff offered to reduce my bill for the inaccurate property description but then didn’t actually do it until I asked, a second time.

Major construction

Often hotels undergo renovation. They need to. It benefits everyone.. But I’ve never been to one where their website didn’t disclose it, nor was I notified prior to arrival. Hotel had no entrance elevator. Had to enter from garage elevator. No pool, no hot tub, construction noise m-f and zero help from front desk staff when asking questions. Usually love this place. I guess I should start calling in as advance to see if I’ll be able to relax or swim or enjoy a hot tub/jacuzzi.

Great!

Great hotel. Currently under construction so the pool was closed. The beds are so great! Both my daughter and I had terrific sleeps. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly. Very close to Cal Poly - just booked again for fall trips
