The resort is beautiful and expansive, with enough activities for a week stay. The drive from the airport is through an alien landscape of volcanic rock - a very unique experience. Since there is nothing else around, the dining options are all very expensive and there are fees and charges for almost everything, so a stay can be expensive.

The parking was $50 a day which is really high. The food was really high. The Ham & Cheese Omelet on the breakfast buffet for $55 was the worse one I have eaten in my 69 years. The property was hugh and 1 of the 2 trams was not running for the first 3 or 4 days. So you had to wait for up to 25 minutes instead of the around 10 we were quoted to get on one. There were birds in the atrium of the Palace hotel that chirped loudly around 7:00 PM every night and at around 5:00 AM every morning that was louder than the TV and woke us up most days. The Adult only pool was not marked as such at the pool and I had to ask 2 groups of people with children to leave in one day, one did after giving me a dirty look and the other lady did not until someone else went to the fornt desk and complained. We gave up and just went to the other pools after this before I had a big confrontation with someone. Also the $50 Spaghetti was not good and we tossed most of it. I reported all of this to the mananger but no one offered to give me a discount he just asked what he good to do make my stay better, I didn't know what to say. I guess I should have asked for some finanical compensation or something. The manager did get both trams running after I complained about them. If you are older and want a restful vacation do not go to this property! You need to be able to walk a lot and have plenty of cash!

Upon check in the person who checked us in told us she would give us free self-parking. When we checked out we saw she charges us for parking, it was almost the same price as valet and if we had to pay for parking we would have just would have done valet, We complained upon check out and the person at the front desk said she would speak with her boss and call us back. of course, she never did and they charged us! The walk to the parking was far and if I had known i would have to pay $50 I would have just valet the car since my spouse has ashma !

My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. My wife likes to find varied places to read when at a resort. This was easily done. Dining was tasty...though at resort prices of course. The only real disappointment was they have a canal that can run boats along on a track. So you would have that option to use instead of the tram or walking since it's a large resort. But they were not running and I was told were being discontinued. Which is a shame as reviews of a night ride viewing the stars sounded enchanting. Also it's odd they are discontinuing as some employee mentioned that by running the boats, it kept the canal clear of algae. Which instead we saw two employees dragging a net behind them and scooping up the algae.

Nice place

The resort was really nice but they definitely nickeled and dimed you out of everything. Luau was wayyyyy over priced and for what we pay to stay at the resort they should have a shuttle that picks you up from the airport and takes you. I also didn’t like the 120 dollar a day damage hold that’s just ridiculous you shouldn’t be charging anyone a fee for every day they are there! Other than that the resort was really nice and clean I loved my room it had two balcony’s and a comfortable bed! The views were nice too. The food wasn’t that great and the water stations to fill your bottles had warm water in them. This resort has the potential to be 5 stars but it’s not.

This property has tons of stuff going on! Rooms were VERY QUIET. It is an easy drive from the Kona airport which was important as we got in very late. There was some miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel, but overall it didn't affect our stay. Our room had a couple of minor issues we reported on the way out. The resort itself has tons of amenities- easy walk to a coffee hut for breakfast and lots of fun things to do!

Here’s the problem $48 hidden fees per day plus $48 per day to park and the parking lot was 20 minutes from the room. There was a tram in the hotel but just one and it was slow so we had to walk at least 4 miles in 6 days. Food was average but cost $10 extra and drinks cost $22 each. The buffet was big and the view was good but $55 per person. The lagoon was amazing but they had 11 dolphins, not free to leave doing blood tests on them. Wouldn’t go back.

The lagoon and pool were wonderful. Protected from waves but still saw tons of sea-life everyday. The parking was very far to walk everyday and the tram was not working all the time. Lots of walking. The restaurant Nui Italian was pretty good. The breakfast buffet was expensive so only did it once. Not many breakfast options on the property. The Kings and Queens Shops close by had good restaurants and some good shopping. The grocery store there also had great food.

The hotel is super old. The room looks so depressing. The layout of the room is terrible. Shower keeps making squeaky noise, and the sink is blocked. It’s more like 3 stars other than 4. Food is overly priced. Pizza is $75 each.

Nice room. Nice pool. Limited food. Breakfast was either a $60 buffet or a coffee stand. Nothing in between. Limited restaurant options for lunch or dinner. Pool with no umbrellas. You could rent a chair with a shade for $200. A bit disappointing.

Great time at Waikoloa Village.

Their lagoon is the best. Worth every penny. Some other charges caught us by surprise, but I guess they are expected these days. Food at Island Gourmet (at Queens Market ~1mile from resort) is good quality and reasonably priced. Very close to Lava club - excellent for dinner with sunset.

The train back and forth was awful it was never on time and it was just easier to walk even though walking to the parking lot was a hike. Please fix the run times and be consistent with trains at the hotel.

Amazing resort, perfect choice! Only negative is the tram/monorail is super slow sometimes. I would highly recommend Hilton Waikoloa Village any time!
