Room was nice but Bay view rooms face a park that people can put up tents for the day and they block your view if you are on the first floor!!’ Must ask for 2nd or 3rd floor. When I enquired about it at front desk they basically said too bad. It’s a public park on other side of walkway. The restaurant Firefly needs a new POS system messed up our bill when asked to split it. They did take care of us but it was a total you know what show. Heard a few others have issues too. Location is great.

I am actually so impressed. Photos do not do justice. This place blew my expectations, I looked for a place to stay for weeks and I ended up picking this resort and it is absolutely beautiful , pools are SO nice.. one is open until 10 and one is open until 11, parking is 35$ but I don’t mind because it is under security surveillance. Room is super clean and so nice, pillows are comfy , bed is a bit firm but I don’t mind that. Shampoo/body wash is out in the bathroom is my one and only complaint but I brought some of my own so it didn’t bother me. I will definitely be back love it here!!!! I’m literally laying in bed at the hotel writing this review bcuz of how impressed I am. Can’t wait to explore more of the property tomorrow

When we checked in to our original room it had not been cleaned, and there was make up/dirt on the pillow case of one bed, and the other bed had multiple pubic hairs on the sheets. I reported this to the desk clerk, he was very gracious, and gave us an upgraded room for the duration of our stay. When we left the hotel and grounds we were approached by unhoused individuals that were aggressive and appeared to be mentally unstable. Inside the hotel and surrounding grounds it was very nice.

I had a wonderful stay at The Dana on Mission Bay! The location is unbeatable—right on the water and just minutes from SeaWorld and downtown San Diego. My room was clean, spacious, and had beautiful views of the bay. The pools were relaxing, and I loved being able to walk along the waterfront. Firefly Eatery & Bar was a highlight with great food and amazing views. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I’d definitely recommend The Dana to anyone visiting San Diego for a mix of relaxation and convenience.

Old style but great location

A great location next to the marina. The rooms are old style in blocks with parking outside the blocks. Some reviews thought that the Dana was a motel but it’s not. Room was clean, bright and comfortable. We did have to change rooms after the first night as we paid for a room with marina view but there was a big tree blocking the view. The hotel staff were accommodating though. Plenty of activities around the hotel and over the main road, including the sunset cruise which is recommended. Decent restaurant on site and good pools. A reliable and cheap bus service available to Old Town from outside the hotel and then a short tram ride into the city to save on car parking fees.

Guests should definitely understand the walls are thin. You will hear people outside and above you. The aesthetic of the rooms have a motel-ish vibe but when you think about the hotel being by the water - it’s giving sailor vibes. It was a very convenient location in great distance of all the areas we wanted to be like La Jolla and Downtown. The views of the Marina are gorgeous and were worth the stay. Nice for walks and picnics. I likely would not stay here again given I prefer a more luxurious stay.

We have been staying at Dana for over 20+ years, it is our favorite place to stay…great location. Belmont amusement park and beach are just over a bridge…Fireworks every night from Sea World can be seen from the outdoor FireFly restaurant.

Property is lovely; staff go above and beyond to make your stay exemplary. Restaurant is quite good. I don’t believe there’s a breakfast option. The pool area has ample lounge chairs and waitress service, which is definitely a plus. The room is okay - nothing to write home about. The beds were fine, although not outstanding. There’s a refrigerator, robes, ironing board and iron, and a coffee maker. There’s a desk with one chair, so it’s not amenable to two people playing games and it makes the room cramped. The room shows its age. But overall, a lovely stay on the bay!
