I was disgusted with the property. Old, rundown, unkept. My room had a bad odor to it, bathroom smelled like urine, floor peeling, old furniture, no mattress cover; only 2 fitted sheets, old spring mattress, caulking used for large Y-shaped crack in shower, equipment stored outside my room under stairs, A/C unit damaged, mops leaning against wall in Pool área, Pool decking crumbling. Some guests looked like they were renting a room by the hour. The fact that I wasn’t able to cancel and paid over $100 plus and a $10 resort fee was appalling. Shocking that this place is even listed on Expedía.

Desert Hot Springs hotel is a legend. And as such is a pleasure to visit. But it has gotten a little run down. Just a few renovations could bring it up to speed. It is clean though and the staff is great!

I believe this property is misrepresented in its advertising, where the truth about the conditon of this property is covered up by the pleasant looking pools as you enter the courtyard. It is as if the owners of this property have gotten away with not investing in updating any part of the area outside the pools in 40 years. The room carpet smelled, the deadbolt would not lock the door, the shower was lukewarm. the bed/matress was uncomfortable to sleep on with no bed spread. Every piece of funiture was tired, worn and old incuding the 70's style pool recliners. I was also charged an extra100.00 deposit for no reason I can think of-because there is no phone in the room to charge anything. Upon leaving one day early (I couldn't face another uncomfortable night in that bed), I checked out in the morning with a front desk clerk who I interrupted from her personal cell phone scrolling duties. When I asked for a printed receipt, she told me the the third party app would send one since I booked the reservation through them. Once I subsequenty checked the third party app. online for a receipt, I read that the hotel would give me a receipt because I paid at the property. So-back to the front desk to the phone scroll woman who was to lazy to push "print" for my requested receipt-until now. I would NEVER stay here again. There are better more accurately represented places out there. One positive-the staff at the dated restaurant were friendly and the food was pretty good .

It means well? And the 70’s and in the 80’s it was way ahead of it’s time. Great pools and spa. But virtually nothing has been upgraded in 40 years. Not where you would take a date to impress her . The staff is excellent restaurant tries hard but the whole facility need to be completely renovated or blown up . I was there 3 days in march 2025 Area is not good at night . A lot of homeless people out late. I will always love this place and the memories I’ll always have. But it needs a lot of help. Badly

The room, 211, was terribly outdated. The deadbolt would not lock. The heat/A.C. unit sounded like a diesel truck. The drapes did not close completely so hard to sleep.

Catching a Tennis Match @ Indian Wells!

Last minute choice as was planning on driving back to LA after the ladies tennis match @ Indian Wells. Late check in went well as matches were running late due to rain. Price under $100 is great. Pros - Room was clean, bathroom had mini shampoo/conditioner, mini fridge. Cons - funky smell, furniture is dated, carpet had stains, location a bit sketchy. Did not have time for pools as weather was cold. A bit of a drive to get to downtown Palm Springs. I would not consider a 2nd stay.

Check in was sketchy at best, took forever as they chatted with the town bums, the pools were empty as in not enough water to fill them. Noisy room was a nuisance. People slamming the gate every 3 minutes and a herd of elephants upstairs. The curtains were not actual curtains they were shears that you could see right through. The lighting at night is extremely bright so the room doesn't get dark. Same as in the morning once the sun comes up there's no darkness in the room at all to sleep in. We asked to stay another night and the lady up front said no because the next night you have to stay a minimum of two nights and she wouldn't include it with our first night stay. Really unprofessional and didn't work with our family whatsoever. Not a very restful stay and the pools were filthy

Kinda faded rooms and grounds, but the multiple pools (cold and hot) were sparkling clean and the little restaurant did a great job, fresh well-prepared food all day. Views of the mountains. Funky but delightful; we would stay here again.

The floors walls are thin and rooms noisy. I can hear footsteps in the rooms above and also when the showers are turned on, the pipes make loud water running sounds. The water temperature keeps turning hot and cold. When someone flushes toilet or runs water, the shower suddenly turns cold. The beds are lumpy and might need to be replaced. Not enough pillows.
