This hotel was . . . not good. To be fair, we just needed a place to stay before going to the aquarium in the morning and it did its job. But- nearly everything was broken or falling apart. The towel bar was coming out of the wall, the shampoo dispenser in the shower had been ripped out the wall, mold in the shower, shower curtain didn't work, sheets were not exactly what you'd call clean. The people in the adjoining room were up and doing something loud (putting together furniture? idk. there were power tools involved) until nearly 3 am. One bed was too soft and the other too hard. They have free breakfast but found the place not clean enough to want to eat there and found a diner instead. Honestly, we just had to laugh because it was so bad. Kids liked the little soap bottles though so there's that.

Don’t stay here if you have kids. Great location, but you’ll hear everything from other people in other rooms. The floors are so dirty here kids feet were black from walking inside the room, also you’ll get the smell of mildew the minute you walk in the room. Owners need to upgrade this great location motel. Lots of potential.

Single worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Dirty. Lights didn’t work. AC didn’t work. Bathroom walls covered in mold. Smoke detector missing. Huge gap in doorway, no weatherproofing, huge draft came in, kids got sick and developed pneumonia

It was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The room was freshly painted that it was so toxic to be in the room. There was poop smeared on the walls of the bathroom. The TV didn’t work, the electricity didn’t work, and there was a pile of sawdust and nails in the corners.

This place was gross. We got to our room and the floors and walls looked like they have never been cleaned before. The shower had hair and pubes in it, and the handle to turn it on didn’t work. Hot water was nonexistent. The towels had stains on them. The caulking had mold. The door to get into the room didn’t have a cover and the batteries and wires were exposed, which is completely unsafe while having a toddler with us. THEN we get back from dinner to find the door to our room was OPEN. Thankfully they changed our room but to be honest, the second room wasn’t much better, at least the remote to the tv worked in the second room.
Batteries were exposed and they tried to tell me it was fine. Which is NOT fine while having a child with us.

My stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Marina, CA was absolutely awful from start to finish. The room was in terrible condition — the bathtub was filthy, the towels had hair on them, and the sheets were dingy and clearly not fresh. The entire room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. The refrigerator still had old food inside and even a cigarette butt, which was completely unacceptable. The air conditioning didn’t work, and there wasn’t even a hair dryer in the room. By morning, I woke up with several bites on my arms and legs, which made me feel uncomfortable and concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel. When I reported everything to the front desk, the staff showed no concern and offered no help. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he wasn’t available — both during my stay and again when I checked out. It felt like management was intentionally avoiding guests with complaints. The only positive part of this experience was when I contacted corporate customer service. They were understanding and professional, quickly refunding my remaining two nights and helping rebook me at another location. They even covered one of the nights with points, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, their kindness can’t make up for how unacceptable the Marina property was. This hotel is in desperate need of attention from upper management. From cleanliness to maintenance to customer service, everything about it was neglected.
