Overall, good experience. Good location, central. If you want more off the grid, go off the main strip, not here. The staff was very friendly and nice. Bed was cozy enough, heat was good. They are doing renovations that seem to be nice upgrade. My room was good and clean. My only wish would’ve been that they upgrade hot tub area and make the water hot. It wasn’t hot enough to go in on a cold night. I would return here. Nice fall stay in big bear! 🐻🏔️🌲🍁

Staff was pretty nice, other than that, place is a dump. It’s being renovated currently so there’s a lot of trash and construction material all over. The cabin we stayed in was really dated, mold in the shower and a tiny little coffee maker but no mugs and no stir sticks, kinda pointless. The jacuzzi tub worked well but the handles and the jet button were completely falling off the tub, but they did operate. When I went to check in, I was about an hour early. They said they’d text me when it was ready, they never did. If you need a cheap place to stay and are looking for convenient location, it’s good for that. If you want cleanliness and amenities, than it’s not for you.

Friendly people, wide variety of lodging options. It might be safer to enter and exit from the side roads than from the main road. My room was in the 1990s black and white building next to the road. It had road noise because the window was open to plumb in a portable air conditioner. Gaps in the sealing let in some road noise. It is after cooling season so I suggested taking the hose out and closing the window. Like many 1990s buildings from that time, it has no central lighting in each room. So, the main room and the bathroom are a bit dark. In the next renovation, it would be good to provide more power sockets. I had to balance the coffee maker precariously on top of the portable AC to plug it in. Good coffee shop across the road!

Staff is great and helpful, but the room was nothing as advertised. In the picture for double room, the description had a picture of a very modern and bright looking room with two windows and plenty of sun light. In the description it also said kitchenette. I wanted to cook. Turned out it was a very dark looking very old fashioned looking room where I had to turn lights on to not feel like in a cave and a microwave was my kitchenette I guess. The continental breakfast I imaged also something else other than paper plates with scones or croissants, apples, bagels and hard boiled eggs in plastic packaging. That’s it. Also, please put a curtain in front of the door window, that light from the lanterns outside was shining so brightly inside the room at night and at 6 in the morning.
A very dark room when the door is closed. Except for at night, then it’s too bright thanks to the uncovered window in the door.

Continental breakfast always good and the hot tub was good but the hot water didn't stay hot. We filled the tub up and tried to put more water but it was cool not hot. But the shower water was hot.
