Overpriced and average. Bar and restaurant areas are too clinical. Staff did an ok job but expected better. Piano piano bar is a throwback to the 1980’s. Overall an average offering and much better value for money elsewhere in Kensington.

What we liked: Our room was great and had a nice view of Kensington Park. It was clean, modern, and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and AC was good (we were there during a heatwave). The breakfast was great and made it easy to workout, eat, and head out to sight see. The hotel is right if Kensington Park, so great for running or walking after dinner. It’s close to the tube and within walking distance of good restaurants and shops. What we didn’t like: There was no bellman when we arrived so we needed to lug heavy bags up steps. The woman who checked us in was odd, and asked if we wanted to upgrade our room for 700 a night b/c it was small…it wasn’t, and we were glad we didn’t upgrade. We also told her we were going to check out the gym, but we couldn’t get in because she didn’t tell us we needed special passes. The first ten minutes of our visit made us wonder if we had made ac mistake booking the place. Overall: Would stay here again. Would recommend getting a park view…worth the up charge.

This is not a 5 star hotel. It’s a comfortable stay and is in a great location but the service was poor and room had limited amenities. Kettle leaked, no mini bar, a tiny fridge which hardly worked. My booking came with 25% off meals and non alcohol drinks but when i went to check out they said it didn’t apply to the restaurant I used. Apparently, I was supposed to have been informed about that when checking in but hence the poor service this didn’t happen. If you want a 5 star experience try somewhere else. Piano Bar was fun, breakfast is so, so but staff and service was poor.

This was by far the most disappointing stay I’ve experienced at an Expedia VIP hotel. The 5-star rating of this property is highly questionable. The issues began from the moment I arrived. There was no porter at the entrance to assist with luggage from the taxi. Upon departure, although a doorman was present and did help with my bags, his behaviour was far from the standard expected at a 5-star hotel. He made inappropriate comments about international guests’ (ladies from GCC) poor English and condescendingly tried to correct them in a rather snobbish manner. The so-called “VIP experience” quickly deteriorated upon entering the room. Despite being an Expedia Gold guest, no upgrade was offered. The assigned room had no view - just a rooftop of a technical building. I had requested a quiet room 2 months in advance, yet I was placed next to a bar with live music. When I approached reception to find a solution, a rather impolite staff member told me to wait until midnight when the concert would end. Only after speaking with the duty manager and Expedia support did a new room “miraculously” become available despite the hotel initially claiming to be fully booked. The new room was extremely small - even smaller than many 4-star hotels I’ve stayed in across London. It lacked basic amenities such as a coffee machine and the bathroom was noticeably dated. Overall, a truly disappointing experience that fell well short of the luxury and service one expects from a 5-star property.

Amazing from the second we walked in! The staff were really friendly and attentive. The room was very elegant but stylish, with an incredibly comfortable bed (the pillows could be a bit more pluffy, but I’ll let them off). But the real thing that made the stay was the service. A phone call from the front desk after being in the room for 30 minutes making sure we settled in ok, turndown service in the evening so when we go back in after seeing a show the bed was ready for sleep with the curtains drawn and water bottles placed on the nightstands. These details made my partner and I feel really looked after and we would without a doubt stay again!
