This hotel is very old. That makes it quaint but I wouldn’t call it comfortable. The single beds were hard and the double bed was lumpy. The rooms are small and dated, and the elevator is slow. Everything is functional, though — it seems carefully maintained — and it’s clean. The staff are very warm and kind. Two big plus points are the convenient location near Paddington Station, and the generous breakfast which is included in the overall affordable (for London) price.

The staff were extremely helpful with everything we wanted or aby queries. The room was basic, but that is what we paid for. Only 4 minute walk from London Paddington

Excellent hotel.

Reception was very friendly & informative, all staff very friendly & very helpful. Breakfast was excellent table service, hot full English. The rooms were very clean & the beds were comfortable. Good location with a short walk to the tube. Will definitely stay here again.

Reception staff were lovely. However there were a few issues. Our bathroom door had a puece missing from the bottom and there were the sharp end of nails sticking out which was quite dangerous. Not once but twice I had housekeeping just open the room door while I was in the room. No knocking first which I thought was appalling and made me feel that I had no privacy. This happened both days we were there. Breakfast was interesting. Someone serves you everything from drinks and cereals to hot breakfast. The first morning my cornflakes didnt even fill up half the bowl. The 2nd morning my husband was left for 20 minutes waiting for his full english breakfast while other guests that ordered after us were served theirs. So he had cold toast to go with his long awaited breakfast.

There was a bar for drinks, the buiding is no new and small, yet we only were in the room to sleep as we there to visit London. Great internet access, and it was close to the tube or bus.

Excellent location a short walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park in the other direction. Reasonable price, pleasant staff. People with cars, I would not depend on getting a parking space.

This hotel is a few blocks from Paddington Station and so is very convenient for both trains and Underground. The staff was charming and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious, with several options, and was served by friendly people. It was on a street of beautiful historic houses (many of which are not hotels).

I liked the idea of supporting a family-owned business and being situated near two tube stations. Unfortunately, at this price point you will have much better options in the same neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and attentive. However, the dated decor throughout the property was so depressing that I dreaded returning to my room each evening.

Great location. Great staff. Nice historic building. But the room itself was far from great. It was very small with poor quality firnishings. The bed and pillows o were uncomfortably hard. No air conditioning. For a daily rate of about $240US (180 pounds), we expected micj better. Regarding the room itself, it felt like a low-end Motel 6 for price of a nice Hyatt or Hilton. Older hotel that has been well maintained. Perfectly nice breakfast, you can choose what you like off the menu, in any combination. Everything was tasty. Only suggestion would be to keep the orange juice cold. But it’s England! The staff were superb friendly helpful, would definitely return there if in London.
