It's not clean, the room is very narrow, you can't move around at all. It doesn't have any services or necessities. It's also not safe as the door doesn't close securely.

PLACE WAS A DUMP. found dirty socks under bed. panties in heater. they did make bed, but not sure about cleaning no a/c. had a desk fan. no elevator. had to walk 2 flights of stairs. bacteriel hand soap instead of bath soap. no toiletries. room too small. not even six inches on side or bottom of bed. chips on bathroom sink.closet was a cubby hole about 10x15x24

I had to cut my trip short. I stayed for only one night, of the five nights I paid for. When I asked the concierge if there was anything I could do, he said it was only between me and my booking agent. So I called my booking agent (Expedia), and they said they would have to contact the hotel. Of course the Hotel said no. It would have saved me alot of time and aggravation if I had just been told the truth at the outset. Also, when I asked the front desk when my 50 pd deposit would be put back on my card, he said the day I left. But the day I left, another front desk worker said the next day. By contrast, my Canadian airline gave me a nominal refund as soon as I cancelled my flight. And I had not paid travel insurance. The British business ideal is honesty and fairness. The proprietors of this hotel were neither honest nor fair. I do not recommend this hotel!

The Glendale Hyde Park is just a short walk from Paddington stations and close to a variety of restaurants (our favourite was Bizarro Italian) and shops. The front desk staff was always available, pleasant and very welcoming. The twin room was quite cramped and had a musty odour. The beds were on rollers and would move if you leaned against the wall and were not very comfortable. The rooms do not have air conditioning but at least a fan was provided. Despite the great service, I would be pressed to stay here again.

Value for money Vs competition

This hotel is the best out of the lower end of my budget list. I type in hotel/private/bathroom/max £80 if I’m staying somewhere for work midweek. I don’t want anything fancy. Clean and tidy

The location is great. Easy walk from Paddington Station to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The staff was wonderful - very helpful and friendly. There wasn't AC in my room, but this isn't unusual in London as it's difficult to get AC into all the rooms of the old townhomes. But I had a lovely large window that brought cool air in at night.

It's a convenient walk from everything however the check in time was at 2pm and we got there at 2:30 and only one room was cleaned and the other room took 30/40 minutes to be ready. Also one of the rooms had an awful smell. The other room which we got later on was fine.
