Pros:
- The rooms are spacious and larger than what you typically find in London hotels.
- The location is ideal for those traveling via Southern Rail - very convenient and seamless.
Cons:
- While the room was relatively clean, the bathroom did not meet expectations for a hotel at this price point. For example, the inside of the toilet was stained, and there were multiple signs that the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned between guests.
- The staff are generally polite when approached directly, but otherwise keep to themselves. There was minimal assistance at the front entrance, where stairs make access difficult. On several occasions, we had to rely on other guests or offer help ourselves to carry suitcases up and down the stairs. Although staff were occasionally stationed there, it wasn’t consistent or sufficient.
- The hotel does not store luggage for more than one day. This is inconvenient if you plan a short trip elsewhere in the UK and intend to return. For example, we had a one-night trip to Bath planned and were told to use paid luggage storage at the station, which would have cost an extra £70. As a result, we canceled our second stay and booked a different hotel that was willing to store our bags, something most hotels typically offer.
-While the location is great for Southern Rail access, it’s less convenient if you’re depending on the Underground. Depending on the line, some exits can be 2–3 blocks away from the hotel.
