Our stay at Skwachàys Lodge in Vancouver was fantastic. From the cleanliness to the staff and service - I would struggle to find a fault with the overall experience of the hotel. We enjoyed being able to purchase artwork and gifts for loved ones from the selection they had to offer in the hotel lobby. I was also able to leave my luggage here for free in a secure location whilst I explored the city on my final day. In terms of the surrounding area it is worth noting that there is an issue with homelessness / drug use. Although we did not have any issues during our stay, we found that there were certain roads near the hotel that should be avoided at night - This in no way effects the service we received at the hotel, with Skwachàys Lodge going out of their way to make visitors feel safe with doors that could only be opened via key fobs. Overall, we would stay here again!

My favorite hotel in Vancouver

I love this hotel so much, it's like sleeping in a work of art. The beds are so comfortable and it's very clean. Front desk people are so friendly and welcoming. The area is not great, once I checked in I didn't feel comfortable going out after dark as a single woman. But during the day I would not feel unsafe coming and going.

Beautifully themed rooms Front desk staff was very friendly and went above and beyond in accommodating our needs Area has a large homeless population, however we felt comfortable walking around the streets. Several restaurants nearby and close to Rogers Arena

Would you stay with this sign posted?

The front desk clerk was having a medical issue when we arrived which was causing some confusion and difficulty in conversation. The flier posted in the elevator stated there would be a bed bug inspection next week. While this may be mandatory for hotels, posting in this manner gave us much pause in staying so we took our bags back down and declined the reservation. Hotel was not the appearance suggested online nor would it rate a 9.0.

Our 4th time staying here, staff are amazing as always and rooms are beautiful. Only gripe this trip was that the water in the room we were in must not have been used in awhile, as it took a few minutes to clear up and get hot, and then the temperature of the rooms was way too hot for me. To my best efforts it doesnt appear you can control the room temp anymore (switch to AC for example), and it wasnt noticable until it was late at night, so no staff on site. Regardless, wont stop us from coming again 😎🙂
