Theater District beach accommodation

Good location, nice staff, fair price.

Check in was rather stressful for some in our party. Some in our party do not drink alcohol, and the front desk person was very pushy with trying to give a bottle of wine, or complimentary cards for a glass of beer/wine. She would not take "no thank you" for an answer. The door to our room was extremely heavy, and hard to open. The pocket bathroom door was heavy as well. In the bathroom, there were no places to hang wet towels, other in the shower. Not a great option when there were 3 of us showering. The workout room was very nice, and some of the staff were very helpful.

My room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel in general was well kept up. I have no complaints--and the price was more than reasonable.

The room was clean but the bed was very firm. The bathtub wouldn’t drain after its first use but they did fix it the next day. The breakfast was incredible. The staff were cheerful and helpful. It was in easy walking distance of everything I wanted to do while in San Francisco. I did however only had a view of the commercial air handler and roof, nothing else! That was the most disappointing, anything aside from the mechanics of the building and roof would have been appreciated.

The $35 per night "guest amenities fee" that this property charges is a joke. I understand that more and more hotels are misleading their customers by revealing such charges only in the small print, but customers should reject this trend by avoiding hotels that do it and giving appropriately low ratings when we are fooled into staying at one. If you offer an amazing resort, fine, charge extra for accessing it, but here we're talking about a tiny, subpar exercise room.
