"Luxury with style "
One night stay with 6yo so we could go to SeaWorld on consecutive days. Comfortable & classy for such low cost. Indoor pool was 6yo dreams come true. Super easy access to Woolworths. Front desk staff made me feel as though we'd known each other for years. Can't fault it. Will stay again.

"Stunning views. Great location"
Had a ball. There are so many things to do on the gold coast. This hotel has table tennis and in door pool and spa. An out door pool and BBQ area. A pool table and heaps of reading material. The room was spacious. The furniture and carpet could do with a refresh. The location is fantastic. Pizza shop is recommended. Short walk to woolies. The big inflatable water park is a 10min walk and is so much fun. Australia fair shopping centre is just as close with plenty of shops and event theatres included. Didn't need to drive all weekend. With the tram across the road and every thing so close.

Convenient location. Short walking distance to shops and restaurants. Also there are big public parklands right across the road from the property. The room rates (fees) were very good for what you get. I received warm welcome and hospitality from the property manager, Sandra. She was very patient and explained everything very clearly to me when I checked in. I also appreciate the very nice, expansive view to the Spit and the ocean from the room (it was on the 12th floor).

We recently needed a last minute stay at the coast for medical reasons and discovered Broadwater Tourist Park - very friendly and so good to be close to the water! Many thanks - particularly to Shelby who was very courteous and welcoming.

If you’re heading to Queensland’s gorgeous Gold Coast for a well-deserved beach break, you should totally consider staying in Southport. The CBD of the Goldie, Southport may not be right on the open beachfront, but it does have sweet water views across the calm Broadwater. Nestled at the northern end of the glitzy strip, Southport is way more low-key than the craziness of Surfers Paradise. So book your accommodation in Southport for a different kind of Gold Coast holiday.

The secret’s out—the Gold Coast is pretty awesome! And now you can stay there without spending a ton of cash when you book accommodation through our sister site, Wotif. Score a sweet Gold Coast hotel deal today and slap on your bathers—you could be at the beach tomorrow!

If you don’t consider yourself a surfer, or simply don’t like battling with the waves, you’ll def love swimming at Southport. The waters are calm and protected thanks to the long sandbar that divides the inlet from the Pacific Ocean. There’s even a swimming enclosure here! But if you’re not into getting wet at all, you’ll love even just taking a stroll by the water’s edge, as walkways and pretty parklands line the shore. Without even planning it, you’ll discover that most weekends there is some kind of event going down in the parklands, whether it’s a concert, seminar, or one of the weekly Produce by the Pier markets which happen on Saturdays.

Heaps of families love Southport’s waterfront area – especially with the water playground – but don’t be fooled into thinking you can’t pack a picnic for a lazy afternoon here too! And don’t miss the 100-metre long pier to toss your bait or dangle your feet off. Because really, we all know that it’s easier to buy fresh seafood and here, there’s tonnes of it, from restaurants to fish and chips shops. Wondering about what other goodies you can buy? Head to Australia Fair Shopping Centre. It’s one of the biggest on the Gold Coast, with 230 stores and a cinema complex, and its right here in Southport.

But of course, a trip to the Gold Coast – or the GC as some peeps call it – isn’t complete without exploring a little further afield. If you’re keen to party the nights away, Surfers Paradise is just 10 minutes away, and the Jupiters Casino a little further. For some luxurious pampering, boutiques and dining, head to Main Beach, which is just on the other side of the Broadwater. And if it’s more sun and surf you’re chasing, the whole Gold Coast is right at your fingertips, from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads and Miami.

To get yourself around this long strip of endless summer, it’s easiest to hire a car, but there are also buses. In 2014 there’ll even be a brand new light rail service! Come see why everyone loves the Gold Coast and get a piece of the action from a peaceful perch in Southport. Book your Southport hotel with us below!
