The one elevator was out and had been for a few months, according to the housekeeping staff. There were only rooms available on the third floor, so after a long day of driving, it was such a joy to have to haul our suitcases up three flights of stairs. The gentleman at the front desk said he tried to call me to let me know of the elevator situation, but that I told him to stop calling me. I received no such call and think he must have mis-dialed. Guess I'll have to call ahead next time I make reservations through Expedia to verify that everything is in working order wherever we're staying.
