Our family reserved a room at the Las Cruces Comfort Inn for March 18. On that date, we were on I-10 driving to Las Cruces from Tucson, when we received a travel alert that I-10 was closed due to a terrible dust storm. We mapped an alternate route that would take us into El Paso with a back track to Las Cruces, but about 30 minutes into our detour, New Mexico closed the highways for that option as well. We were truly and literally stuck. I called the hotel and asked them if we could cancel. Because it was 3:00 on the afternoon of our arrival, they refused. We were literally prevented from making it into Las Cruces due to the dust storm. This article was updated at 10:27pm with a note that roads were reopened. https://www.krqe.com/traffic-roads/i-10-closed-from-arizona-to-las-cruces-due-to-blowing-dust-low-visibility/ Since I was traveling with children, we had already made the decision to return to Tucson and rent another hotel room - we could not make the four-hour drive at 10:30pm in order to make our reservation. We were surprised that the handicap rooms were not on the first floor. They should have been on the first floor incase of a fire because some may not be able to use the stairs.

We enjoyed our stay and were comfortable in our room. Staff was friendly. The pool area was rowdy when we went around 8pm so I would suggest going earlier if you have young children who are learning to swim and do not like being splashed.

Staff up front were vert friendly and informative. The room and bathroom, we had to get an accessible for my sister, were very clean. Not too much noise on the hallway. Beds were comfortable.
