Good place for a reasonable price

Lobby area and bar are very nice - recently renovated and modern. The views are fantastic. The guest rooms, however, are just average. No closets or drawers for storage.

I was lucky enough to have a room with a view of the mountains and Mirror Lake. Everybody I was in contact with from the front desk to the people working at other jobs in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The public spaces are beautiful but not that well-used in summer. There is a heat wave and all areas of the hotel were blissfully cool. The only negative is the extreme number of texts and emails received the minute I made the reservation. Much too much. Despite my happiness with the Bluebird, I'm not sure I would want to be barraged that way again. One welcome, one thank you is enough.

We stayed at Bluebird Lake Placid for two nights this past weekend. While we knew it was a 2-star hotel and weren’t expecting luxury, a few issues left us disappointed. First, the parking situation was frustrating. There weren’t enough spaces for guests, and we had to circle the lot and wait. Staff told us, parking is first come first serve, told us to park anywhere, which felt disorganized and stressful after a long drive. At check-in, we were surprised to be charged an additional $30+ per day for Wi-Fi and breakfast. Even though the website clearly stated breakfast was complimentary and included in our stay. When we asked about it, we were told it was a “new policy,” and there wasn’t much we could do in the moment. It felt unfair and misleading. The breakfast only has cereal, yogurt and coffee, no hot food. The room itself was average, the shower had only a half-door, so water easily splashed onto the bathroom floor. Overall, we really wanted to like this place, but for $300 per night, we expected better service.

I was charged $150 for parking, WiFi and breakfast. What a joke! There is not enough parking!!! WiFi- since when do hotels charge for WiFi? And breakfast- dry cereal, hard boiled eggs - that is not worth $150! Also, “breakfast” started at 8 am. There was a major sporting event going on! Games started at 8:30. Seriously?! I had to go out to get something to eat both mornings. And both days combined was under $100. So to charge that kind of money is ridiculous. If there was a way to be refunded my money, I would demand a refund. Although rooms were clean and comfortable, for all the reasons mentioned above, we will not be returning to your establishment and will be sure to let others know about the situation.

This is a last resort resort.

The food options are very poor. They had a menu, but couldnt serve the menu because they did not WANT to cook any meal. Highly disappointing. One of the worst hotel experiences iv ever had. Beds were new, but the rest of the place was just so old with a cheap paint job to cover it up.

A very convenient location to the Lake Placid village - super easy walking distance. The lounge was comfy with a spectacular view of Mirror Lake. We had a nice, spacious room (but we had a parking lot view) Breakfast coffee was excellent, breakfast was minimal.

My husband and I , just 1 overnight. The hotel is nicely updated. Beautiful open entry area with a Good view from there overlooking the lake. Nice bar with small plates available. Continental Breakfast, and coffee…(if you can call it coffee) we went out for breakfast. Overall, acceptable for 1 night.

It was a lovely stay however for families with small kids - rooms don’t have a kettle for preparing baby bottles and there are no high chairs on the property. Good for adults without kids though!
