Needs to Upgrade Linen and Towels

The room and hotel seemed to be clean enough overall. Continental breakfast was all right, but a little skimpy on choices. The only problem we could see was the sheets, bedspread and towels need to be replaced. The sheets on our bed were paper thin with weird stains dried into them. We left the sheet visible the first night to see if room service would change them. Nope. One towel also had a hole in it. Sheets, bedspread were very thread bear and worn out. Linen is not that much to replace. I'm not saying it was a bad stay, there could to be a little more attention to details.

Old motel sitting back from the road. Room was quiet. I suspect that some renovations are under way, as there were construction dumpsters along the back side of the building. All in all, you get what you pay for.

Excellent value for the money

We asked for and received an updated room, and it was quiet, spacious and comfortable. It was on the second floor (no elevator - no problem for us), as a lot of renovation work was in progress on the first floor. Tiny fitness room has working treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bike. Elliptical only good if you’re under 6 feet tall, due to the low ceiling. Co tinental breakfast was straightforward and adequate for all needs. Hard boiled eggs in the fridge with yogurt, milk, OJ. All told excellent value for the money.

The room smelled like wet dog, and the door required excessive force to open. The keycard system was temperamental, often requiring multiple attempts before unlocking the door. The facilities were not well kept, with utility closets and their unsightly contents left wide open. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, and I opted to turn it off for this reason. The sound isolation between rooms was nonexistent, and I could hear activity in other rooms with clarity.

Clean room that appeared to have been recently remodeled. Room was quiet. Property is a short drive to downtown and is close to conveniences. The free breakfast is very limited. This is not a high end hotel, but has everything needed for a comfortable stay.

This was so bad that we never slept nor stayed in the room(s); thus, giving Day Inn several hundred dollars for literally nothing but aggravation. The first room on the ground floor had no closet nor dresser. Being at a three day event we needed to be able to put clothes away somewhere other than the car. After I asked them to change rooms, they said it'd be a few hours. When we came back, they had put us on the second floor (no elevator) with no help carrying our luggage upstairs. We opened the door and were overwhelmed by the stale tobacco smoke odor. Still, no dresser but this room had three one inch pegs in the wall acting as a closet. Because we had a formal dinner to go to, and since there were no amenities like an iron, I went back downstairs to ask for them. The desk people had to scurry around to find one and an ironing board. As with no help lugging things around, I had to take them upstairs. Later that evening, as we were concluding the formal dinner, we knew there was no way to stay in this Days Inn. We approached people at Hobart and William Smith Colleges who were hosting the event. Told them the situation and they immediately responded by giving us a clean well maintained dorm room with other alums. We only went back at the end of our two night "non-stay" to explain clearly (and calmly) the reasons for our total dissatisfaction and to check-out. The response from the clerk/manager was a blank stare.
