Dinner was average. Shower drainage was a problem in our room that was corrected by changing rooms. Cleaning staff were superb. Bathrooms are especially small, with no lids on the toilets.

You should stay at this historic hotel. The charming hotel and the staff are as good as it gets. Two things might be good to know. 1) There is the main hotel and a newer motel-like annex. Both are kitschy fun. 2) The rooms we have stayed in in the hotel have teeny bathrooms. Just be prepared. Those in the motel are larger. Knowing that, make your reservations at the wonderful El Rancho!

This is my second visit to the El Ranco. The staff are professional and kind. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable. The linens are crisp and scent-free. The bar & restaurant serve top notch beverages and hearty, delicious New Mexican food. There is a treasure trove of memorabilia from Westerns filmed in the area for guests to view and a hand-painted mural in the lobby that depicts the history of the Southwest. I found it wildly educational. I love how the property is being beautifully restored with top quality materials and finishes this historic hotel deserves, and how the historic elements are being preserved.

This hotel rocks. You can spend hours looking at the decor reading the history. The gift shop has everything you could possibly want to take home. The restaurant and bar were outstanding. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Akia was fantastic at checkin.
