There were flash floods during my check in time and NY was in a state of emergency. The hotel would not allow us to cancel or reschedule. Considering the extreme weather and the fact that these floods did happen between where I live and the hotel, I think we should have been granted a credit for another night. The flash floods occurred for the majority of the time we were suppose to be at the hotel. I think during extreme weather conditions, the hotel policies should be reconsidered.

Every single thing was lovely. It is an established older hotel that continues to provide the best hotel experience on Long Island. Staff especially kind and dedicated to a positive experience for every guest. Hard to find this these days no matter the price point.

The location on the beach must be why this hotel charges so much. We stayed for 3 nights and our bill was almost $2000, not including any charges at the restaurant. The location is great, but the hotel is not. The room had a horrible moldy smell. Maybe that's just because of the proximity to the beach. I'm pretty sure they were turning off the A/C at night. There was no way for us to adjust the temperature, and we couldn't open the windows. The internet was very slow, which was a problem because my husband had to do some work from the room. They have valet parking, but when we got there to check in, there was no valet. We had to go inside and wait for someone to find him. No one offered to take our bags to our room. We never had dinner at their restaurant because all of the reviews were so bad. We did have breakfast one morning. I ordered a bagel and they brought me what looked like a toasted hamburger bun. The waitress said it was a "New York Style" bagel. I grew up on Long Island, and that is not the kind of bagel I remember. It was nice to stay right on the boardwalk, but I think we will try another hotel if we go back.

The 2 younger woman working in the front were 10/10 so sweet n kind very good at there job! This hotel is lucky to have them. Only negative thing I have to say is the older lady working were the beach rentals are was really rude n short with us. Seemed like it was a bother for her to do HER job. We were only checking out 2 chairs. Smh

This is our third year in a row staying at Allegria. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It was nice that some of them remembered us from our previous stays. The room was clean with comfy beds and great toiletries. We have enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant and also taken the sandwiches to go from the lobby. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back.

Not worth the price

Wouldn’t stay here again. $60/night for a “resort fee” and we still had to pay extra to get chairs and towels for the kids for a beach day. We went up to enjoy the pool, which ended up having cloudy water and was overcrowded, and were informed we’d have to leave by 5pm because the hotel was hosting an evening event in the rooftop space. The rooms were of medium quality but the shower was in pretty bad shape with almost no water pressure. The walls and ceiling were so thin that we could hear people in the rooms around us even if they were walking and speaking at normal volumes. We thought we had paid a premium for a nicer stay in Long Beach but I can’t recommend this place.

Loved the location, beautiful view of boardwalk and beach. Many of the staff were helpful and sincere, unfortunately they have a few, you don't really want to know. So training is a clear issue. Most rooms smelled of a mildew, we settled into the first room they brought us to because they were kimd enough to unlock the window so we xould get fresh breeze off the ocean. My overall assessment, it was OK. At the price they charge, i would have hoped for more. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town if you want to be on the beach. If i had the energy I had 20 years ago, I'd build a competing hotel in Long Beach.

Great hotel in an excellent location. The beach is a 2 minute walk with the rest of the island being within easy driving reach. Trains to NYC are also nice and easy. The entertainment and the pool are a big plus
