Nostalgic Property

Outside environment was very good. The room we were in (#5) was tiny and the bathroom totally too small, including the shower. The AC unit made an annoying vibration sound almost all the time it ran. The mattresses too hard. Other than that, it was OK.

The workers were absolutely amazing. We had 2 children with me and my girlfriend. Its was an unforgettable experience. We even ran 10 mins behind our checkout time and they told us not to worry. I rented cottage 15 a queen 1 bedroom cottage and the children slept on the futon outside in the closed in pourch. They had everything youd need for cooking plus grill on site. Also they had 2 nicer grills by the gazebo with activities horseshoes and some round ball game. A beautiful dock and large green grass ares for the children. Id give this a 10 out of 10. Im already planning a trip in August! Oh i forgot to mention the pool! Really nice!

My partner and I really loved this motel! It was clean and the staff were friendly. Only downside was that the bed was so squeaky that it would wake us up if the other person moved or got up. Otherwise, great place.

Clean and nice but very cozy

Nice, cozy, clean place to stay. The hosts were very accommodating with our arrival which we greatly appreciated! Our room was cozy, not all are as small but the bathroom in our room is not for large folks.

The moment we arrived at West Winds Motel and Cottages in Clayton, we knew we picked the right place to stay while visiting Thousand Islands. West Wind cottages are located along the St. Lawrence River with a beautiful view of the River from the entry to the property. We stayed in the motel type rooms there because there were no vacant cottages upon our arrival thinking that we could move to a cottage the next day when there was a vacancy, however, we enjoyed our room so much that we never changed to the cottage. The rooms were very clean and comfortable as was the bed. The bed was queen sized which was all they offered. The bathroom was a little small with only a shower but that worked for us. It was also immaculate. Clean towels were offered daily. The owner, Dean, was really nice and friendly. He took great care of the grounds showing care and pride in his business and treating us like family. He builds a nightly fire for all to enjoy and we even observed him blowing off the sidewalks for added cleanliness. He also accredited his wife for the nice little touches found on the property and in the rooms. There was a nice little 24 hour coffee room stocked and equipped with Keurig coffee, creamer, cups with lids, ice and even a wine bottle opener. All rooms and cottages have an outdoor picnic table which was convenient. There was an in ground pool which was very clean. We have great memories and pictures of our stay at West Winds. Thank you West Winds Motel and Cottages.
