We arrived on a Friday afternoon. The pool was open but had so much bird poop all over the tables and chairs that they were not really usable. The splash pad was closed. We had a rather large cockroach in the bathroom and a cricket or two the were in the room. The staff was nice and the beds were comfortable. The property shows its age.

Pool is open until 10pm. Friendly staff. Kid friendly place. Short scenic drive to Carlsbad national park. About 15 minutes from town. Restaurant next door is good, but a limited menu. Over priced. Gas station across the way. I would stay again.

If you are going to Carlsbad Caverns National Park, this location is perfect. Close, convenient, and clean. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The pool is available but the slides are only open on the weekend. That wasn't a big deal for us, but just including it in the review for others to know. I would definitely recommend staying in this location. There is a restaurant across the way called the Cactus Cafe.....they have EXCELLENT hamburgers, local craft beers, mainstream beers, and good old soda. There is also a gas station across the way. Everything you need.

Great hotel...grumpy old lady!

Our check-in process wasn't as great as it could be. The older woman who checked us in was rude and seemed irritated that we were bothering her. Maybe she was just having a bad day but we weren't having the best day, either and had been looking forward to staying that your, cute quirky hotel. The front desk lady spoiled the magic for us. The saving grace is the rest of the staff was phenomenal and we will definitely stay the next time we are in the Carlsbad area.

Nice room, very large with a private toilet and shower, plus a semi private sink area, I thought that was a nice touch. The area around it was a good vibe with a restaurant and small grocery store. Perfect if you are going to the cavern, it's literally right there.

Great location, couldn’t use waterpark

First, please know if it’s a weekday your kids (and/or you) are not getting on that waterslide. I feel so bad for the front desk lady who has to break that news to everyone coming in. Next, the location to the caverns is absolutely amazing! You can walk to the entrance road for the national park (it’s about a 12 minute drive from there). The rooms are big. It’s a good deal budget-wise, but would have been awesome with that beautiful photo you see of the water park situation when you book…that you probably can’t use.

Great Location

Friendly staff, a great location for Visiting Carlsbad Caverns NP, fun pool and slide make this an easy choice if you plan to visit the National Park or need a stop along your route. The rooms are comfortable enough for an older establishment. Plenty of secure parking. One downside, there is no place to get dinner. I would still stay there in the future.

Overall epic experience here. Enjoyed every minute. Large room with ample space, two clean comfy beds, refrigerator and microwave. Room was great, super clean and inviting. Great staff. Kind with excellent communication prior to our visit, fantastic on arrival as well as accommodating while waited since we arrived early. Pool facilities marvelous with waterslides and a fountain. BBQs across the street. Closest hotel to Carlsbad Caverns. I highly recommend this spot and will be here again next summer.

I wasn’t expecting ‘amazing’, given the price of the property - I mostly wanted to be close to Carlsbad Caverns National Park - but out of a week long roadtrip - White’s City Cavern Inn was our most disappointing stay by far (and we stayed for two nights). We were greeted by a very unpleasant woman upon check in. Not a smile, not a warm welcome, nothing positive. All she wanted to do was argue about the card used to pay for the room - even though the room was already completely paid for. There was no hair dryer in the room - and I intentionally only book stays at places with hair dryers listed as an amenity - because I don’t pack a hairdryer. Luckily, when I called the next morning, they were able to provide one - but the lady on the phone just nonchalantly mentioned many of the hairdryers in the rooms are broken. So they know many of the rooms have this issue - but haven’t bothered to fix it. Sure they provided one upon request - but it doesn’t tell you a bit about how the place is managed. And who knows if they’ll actually have one when you call and need it. In the 1.5 days we were there, we helped 5 insects out of the room, and one small toad. Literally. The toad was pretty adorable, and we don’t freak out at insects and have no problem helping them back outside. But - five insects and a toad in two days could be a bit much for someone not so into those types of things. The room itself was a pretty good size (we had two queen beds) - but there is absolutely no where

We stayed there mainly for the pool and it did not disappoint. My kids had a blast swimming. It was in the perfect location for what we were doing. I would stay there again.

Room was very spacious, almost like they didn't know how to put stuff in the room to make it comfy. Beds were okay. We stayed for one night so didn't experience to much. We got in late to sleep and head out the following morning. What probably bothered me the most is the sink drainage was super bad. Water had a super hard time going down and draining.
