Bathroom smelt of engrained urine Check in at 2pm Room not ready Find out at 3 that the pool closes at 4 on NYE - not disclosed at time of booking or check in Missed fireworks waiting 25 minutes for a lift because it broke 2 days earlier and still not fixed Had to walk 36 floors at one stage because the wait was so long - husband arrived at the unit 20 minutes after us walking those stairs Absolutely no view of any fireworks

The room was wonderfully decked out with a kitchen and laundry facilities. I was hoping for a river view off the balcony especially being my birthday. The city view was quite an ugly sight if I’m honest, looking down onto the tops of buildings. The big down side was when I went into the kitchen the next morning. The floor was wet! I nearly had a dreadful fall as I didn’t notice it nor was I looking for a wet floor. It was more than just damp or condensation. The reception got onto my concern very quickly, sending a maintenance person. She was very bemused, thought the cause was from the fridge. I had not used the dishwasher, dryer or washing machine. She organised for housecleaning to dry the floor. I had more than one visit from the staff to address the issue as it kept happening. This took into my holiday time and relaxation time. I felt some recompense could’ve been made as it was a total inconvenience to me and the room was not up to scratch. Everyone was obliging and polite though.
