Very disappointing stay. This is our second time staying at the Ivy & Eve, as we enjoyed our first stay. Unfortunately, this did not live up to expectations. Our first hurdle was the room was not what I had booked - smaller and a double bed not king. I had requested early check-in as a Platinum Expedia Member in advance, which I understand is subject to availability. Upon arriving at reception, my request was immediately dismissed and my free upgrade denied. I understand it was a busy weekend in Brisbane, however the communication lacked. We were told a message would be sent when the room was ready, which never arrived. After check-in and receiving the incorrect room, we were told that all rooms were at capacity for the night. I agreed that if we can be upgraded to a better room the following day, we will accept this room for the night. We were informed I would receive messages of the updated booking, and we could check in from 10-11am the next day. I did not receive any messages, and we again had to wait to rebook the room which wasted our time. This was not sorted the previous day as promised. The new room was as expected, the layout and bed size I had booked. Not an upgrade. This was a messy start to our trip - in addition to this the room was filthy in every area. The sofa was horrifically stained, skirting boards and floors covered in dust and dirt. The area is amazing near South Bank - however book elsewhere. The cost of the hotel does not justify what you get.
