NEXT Hotel Brisbane

"Great location "
Great location. good facilities, technology in room did not work very well as everything was controlled by a galaxy phone which would not connect so lights were all over the place, music and tv did not work for one night. Valet parking not really available or certainly not on offer, Parking in Myer carpark okay and cheep but a bit of a hassle when you first arrive and to check out as it adds at least 30 minutes the process. I would however stay there again.

"Good CBD location. "
We stayed for two nights in a clean, well-appointed room. Courteous and helpful staff on the front desk. However, although toiletries were replaced and bins emptied on the second day, no milk was supplied for tea and coffee; used cups and wine glasses from the first day weren't replaced, and the bed wasn't made!

"Good hotel central to everything we needed"
Easy access [15] mins walk to Griffith Uni Conservatorium, Southbank activities, Museum, Art Galleries, central to the mall and easy shopping, gardens, dining out, city cat , red hooper. Easy to get to from the freeway, and easy to get onto the freeway to get home. Easy to get onto the freeway to visit relatives in the Northern suburbs. Being older we appreciated being able to come back to hotel when tired to rest between activities.

Treasury Casino & Hotel

130 William Street, Brisbane - Map
"Historic charm in the heart of the city"
This day topped off out weekend in Brisbane. The beautiful historic Treasury building has been converted into an elegant hotel. Our room was magnificent. In fact the bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept in, prompting me to write to the hotel upon my return home asking them for the details of their bedding providers. The location is ideal, right next to the river, and in the heart of the city. We walked across the bridge and took a leisurely stroll through the Southbank area in the evening, my partner and I definitely want to come back and stay at the Treasury casino hotel again

    Things to do

Go bush and climb Mt Gravatt before tramping through the Toohey Forest and then check out some native Aussie critters at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. Or if you'd prefer to spend a bit of time on the coastline, you can splash about at Wynnum Beach and then go for a walk along the Mangrove Boardwalk.

Love your sport? Catch a cricket match at the Gabba or have a game of cricket yourself by setting up your wickets at Greenslopes Park or Moorbell Street Park and whiling away the arvo.

    Shopping and dining

Although Garden City in Mt Gravatt is the best-known shopping centre in Brisbane's southern suburbs, there are plenty of other spots to get a good dose of retail therapy. There's the Eight Mile Plains Shopping Centre and Sunnybank Market Square, for starters. There are also heaps of vintage shops and boutique fashion stores dotted around the place - the antique stores in Woolloongabba are a must-stop. Also, the Saturday Fresh Markets and the Sunday Discovery Markets at Rocklea are always popular. So make sure you bring your credit cards!

When it comes to dining in Brissy's southern 'burbs, you couldn't be more spoiled for choice! There's everything from Ethiopian to Italian and Thai to Mod Oz! So, you won't have any issues finding a place that suits your taste and budget.

    Getting here and around

Most of Brisbane's southern suburbs are only about 20km from the Brisbane Airport, so score a seat on one of our cheap flights to Brisbane and then cruise around on public buses and trains. Easy peasy!
