"Nice space but needs some work"
Upon arrival, the hotel staff were courteous enough, lobby, breakfast dining room & pool area in a desperate need of an update - very tired looking which when paying top end prices I expect a lot more.

"Good location and excellent on service and comfort"
We had a great time at the Capri which exceeded our expectation. Only downfall was that the pool was closed for renovations during our stay which we only found out about after we booked.

"Super modern and sleek."
Upon arriving at Brisbane we realised pretty quickly that there wasn't much to do that didn't involve going out of the city - but we were well more than tempted to just spend the time we had in the super modern room! Everything in the room is controlled from a smartphone provided by the hotel. Lights, TV, the Aircon, room service calls - literally everything that you'd normally have a seperate remote or control panel for is on there! As someone who's into technology, I found it to be seriously awesome. In other aspects, the bed and pillows were the most comfortable of the 3 places we stayed in for our East Coast visit, the room was well presented and very, very modern.

"Overnight"
Just booked a room for a one night stay for a night out on the town. The resort was great! Free toothbrush and toothpaste although I had to ask for it and go get it on a hangover was great to freshen up. Apart from that was a great stay! Great pricing, right on the mark for what I expected!

"Nice hotel overall."
Upgrading restaurant which sucked for me due to there being no coffee machine in the hotel. Had to venture outside hotel to get change for the washing machine also which was a pain in the butt.

"A night at the Powerhouse"
We chose this accommodation as it was close to The Powerhouse with easy access to the City Cat. It was also a good meeting place for our journey from Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast. The staff were friendly and accommodating and I could relax with a coffee in the lounge on arrival. The room was very suitable. Parking was on site in the basement and breakfast was included in the booking. I will certainly stay here again.

    Things to do

Go bush and climb Mt Gravatt before tramping through the Toohey Forest and then check out some native Aussie critters at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. Or if you'd prefer to spend a bit of time on the coastline, you can splash about at Wynnum Beach and then go for a walk along the Mangrove Boardwalk.

Love your sport? Catch a cricket match at the Gabba or have a game of cricket yourself by setting up your wickets at Greenslopes Park or Moorbell Street Park and whiling away the arvo.

    Shopping and dining

Although Garden City in Mt Gravatt is the best-known shopping centre in Brisbane's southern suburbs, there are plenty of other spots to get a good dose of retail therapy. There's the Eight Mile Plains Shopping Centre and Sunnybank Market Square, for starters. There are also heaps of vintage shops and boutique fashion stores dotted around the place - the antique stores in Woolloongabba are a must-stop. Also, the Saturday Fresh Markets and the Sunday Discovery Markets at Rocklea are always popular. So make sure you bring your credit cards!

When it comes to dining in Brissy's southern 'burbs, you couldn't be more spoiled for choice! There's everything from Ethiopian to Italian and Thai to Mod Oz! So, you won't have any issues finding a place that suits your taste and budget.

    Getting here and around

Most of Brisbane's southern suburbs are only about 20km from the Brisbane Airport, so score a seat on one of our cheap flights to Brisbane and then cruise around on public buses and trains. Easy peasy!

There's no time like the present! Book a room in one of our Brisbane southern suburbs hotels today and live every lastminute!
