I'll admit, I was a little nervous booking this "cabin". I was pleasantly surprised. Clean, comfortable and easy access to the Lake Yellowstone Hotel and nearby lodge. I did have a little problem with no TV or wifi, but really it was probably better to be without it!

Room was clean and comfy, and safety was no issue. Plenty of free parking. Value for the dollar was low, as you paid a premium for location to Yellowstone park. The weak point for the property were dining options and staff. The hostess for the hotel restaurant ($$$$) was snotty and not helpful when asked about dining in the main restaurant, and when asked about menus for dining in the bar replied I don't know, you'll have to go over there (they were serving desserts and appetizers same as in the main restaurant). We ate elsewhere.

Older hotel and very quaint. Yet floors were creaky and walls were thin meaning you could hear a lot of noise. Good dining options but difficult for vegetarians. Good location to explore the rest of Yellowstone. Check out the stars at night down by the lake. Awesome.

This property is overpriced. I realize it is inside the park, and that was convenient, but it is ridiculously overpriced for what it offers. The room was just ok at best. Restaurant was impossible to get same day reservation for dinner. Did have breakfast there. Buffet was the only option, which I dislike a lot because I simply cannot eat enough to justify the buffet price, and the options on the buffet were not great. My biggest complaint was the broken and filthy toilet seat. I definitely would not recommend this place or stay there again, in spite of the convenience.

The Lake Yellowstone Hotel is incredibly convenient as a pick-up location for the fabulous park-run guided tours of Yellowstone and a central place from which to drive around the incredible park. Some hotel staff were stellar and others seemed like they did not want to be there, but we were there toward the end of the what I am sure is ab exhausting season. Our shower curtain was not what I would call clean nor were the baseboards in the bathroom. I did not realize dinner reservations should be made 60 days in advance - so now readers know - make dinner reservations WAY in advance. There are not a lot of food options - but the kitchen also needs to serve an unbelievable number of people. We absolutely would stay here again for the incredible convenience and the staff members who did go out of their way to be nice. Yellowstone National Park is beyond compare for the wildlife and thermal geology! Staying in the park can really make your time there much more enjoyable!! Book the National Park guided tours - they are amazing!!! We took two and they were worth every penny and every minute of our time! We were picked up right at the hotel!

On the positive side, there is very quiet in the cabins area, since there is no internet, no TV. On the negative side, there is not enough compound lighting, it was hard to get to and from the car to the door, complete darkness after sunset. Oh, and gases from an active hot spring nearby can accumulate in the cabin overnight, may produce severe headaches, nausea and cold sweats.
