My cousin and I checked in at around 10:30pm on 1/30/26. The property was a little run down but the evening desk staff was very nice. It was late and I was too tired to say anything about the condition of the property.
On 2/1/26, our first full day there, I attempted to take a shower and no hot water came up. They called maintenance, the technician came up, and he told us that the reason we had no hot water was because laundry was being done. I could not even believe this was the reason there was no hot water and how it was said to me as though it was a normal occurrence.
I approached the front desk agents in tears because I traveled there from Massachusetts for a family death and my cousin and I didn't have anywhere to go or any extra money to pay for a stay somewhere else.
After convincing them that I had no extra money and nowhere to go, and that this was no way to be treated by (what was supposed to be) a highly-rated resort, they issued me a refund for my remaining two days and we checked out.
I was able to find us a room at a different property that turned out to be absolutely spectacular, so I suppose this was all a blessing in disguise. However, my rating of the Hutchinson Island Hotel is still a terrible one.
