I recently traveled through here twice. The building benefits from its older construction in that the walls and floors have concrete, making the rooms much quieter. However, the plumbing and conduits present constant noises. Many of the rooms are connected, making the neighboring occupants intrusive. Most upsetting is the terrible cleanliness of the towels and bedding. Several towels were discolored at best, with the most dicusting being stained and flat out soiled by feces. The bedding on the second trip was blood stained. The indoor pool and whirlpool are good for children. But the disgusting issues with towels and bedding demand immediate inspection by parents.

It was pretty inconvenient how to get to my room. I had to go from the parking lot to the pool room, then up 2 flights of stairs. This was incredibly difficult when trying to maneuver around with luggage. The staff during check in tried to check me in under a different name. Then told me the room may not be clean. The carpet was disgusting, in all areas. Especially the staircase. The area is very loud in the day and night. There was a dog barking constantly even though this was supposed to be no pets. The only plus was the need was comfortable.

People were super friendly, but the rooms were dark, pillows very lumpy, bed coverings thin. Sturgis has super nice folks - but it appears a lot of the businesses just close up after the motorcycle gathering in August, leaving somewhat of a deserted feel. Sturgis deserves better.

The hotel was alright, not a bad place to crash. The room was clean and comfy. The tub drained kinda slow. It was quiet there. Breakfast was a joke. They were out of everything, even coffee. You could maybe get a waffle, but no syrup or utensils.

The AC didn't work. The filter looked like a blanket on the AC and the blower motor wouldn't push air. The TV remote didn't work. Our Keycards constantly gave us trouble. To top it off the coax cable for the TV was broken.

Place is a dump, toilet seat not fastened to bowl, fill valve in toilet squeals while filling after flushing. Black mold in bathtub, cloth shower curtain, gets so drenched water allover floor. Shades on lamps cracked. 110 volt plugs on lamp bases did not work. Exposed wiring behind entrance door. NO ground fault devices in sink area, a HUGE code violation! Nice, decent sized, bug carcass laying on floor next to bed. Carpets, FILTHY, in room and commons area. Included breakfast a JOKE. Place should be shutdown!!!

The front desk lady was excellent. The carpet had several large wrinkles in it. The wrinkles were over an inch high and was a tripping hazard. The heat did not work. We called front desk and the lady brought us blankets and a small heater. It was hard to get warm. Was told it would be looked at the next day. Breakfast the next morning was cold. No milk for cereal. After all day outing we come back to a hot room. Tried to turn on a/c but it didn’t work. Tried the heat and it did not work however the fan did work. Talked to lady at front desk, she was willing to move us to another room but it was upstairs-inside. We were too tired to moved. I told her I thought we should be refunded one nice and she said she would see what she could do. Unfortunately, I know that will not happen.

Poor management

I booked a two night stay. I got to my room around 1:30am 2nd night and room keys did not work. There was no one around and sign on door said will be back 7am. I called and no answer. I had to sleep in my car while my belongings were in the room. After 7am i stated my situation politely and I got negative comments with no concern of my situation. Needless to say she still charged me for my 1st night and it wasnt her problem. She checked me out and im like, "Are you going to let me in my room to get my stuff?" She threw a fit and called maintance. When he showed up, she didnt realize i was still in the lobby and complained that some guy is throwing a fit and needs to get in his room. I couldn't have been more calm. Never raising my voice or cussing. And to think she still had the nerve to charge me. Ive have never seen more poor consumer service in my life.
