Booked a family trip to this property safe to say do not bring your young family here. Not only was the surrounding area bad but once inside you are welcome to construction. Which also is actively being done in your room. When you move to your room expect your ac to be locked at 60 degrees with non cold air blowing out until about 1am. Not only that but people are l actively smoking in the entry of the building but also in their rooms. When you ask them about the situation they simply write it off. Pool was unclean and had a floating white film so we could even enjoy that amenity. Family’s stay away

The hallways and elevators were very dirty. The whole place had a disgusting stench, especially on the floor that I stayed on by the ice machine. There were several bags of trash by the ice machine that did not get taken out, they were there when I checked in at 3pm and still there the next day at 11am when I checked out. On a side note, my room was clean and the service was good.

Easy location for travel. We stayed with our dog. Requested a double room, got a king. Furniture was worn and carpet smelled like urine but they did a good job with cleaning it. Breakfast good and staff friendly.

Although location and price was great, property is going through renovation. Definitely some areas need it, smell of paint bugged me No handicap room with walk in shower. Staff was friendly.

I booked 2 nights to attend my grandaughters graduation from notre dame. My grandson who was coming from connecticut to chicago was meeting me to drive me from chicago to south bend as i was coming from buffalo. His flight was cancelled due to the tornados last minute and as a result i had to cancel mine. I immediately reported it to hotel but they already charged me for both nights even though the policy said if you dont show up you forfeit one night. Ive called twice but they tell me its up to management but they never get back to me. Im out 572 dollars.

The employees were very helpful and friendly. My understanding is the hotel has been sold- I hope that is true because currently this place is a dump. Rooms needed cleaned, the mattresses were stained, the furniture in our room was terribly stained and worn. I understand that South Bend is a college town where very popular football games are held. I imagine the guests can be quite rowdy. The owners would not want to fill the rooms with priceless antiques and valuable furnishings, however there is no excuse for soiled mattresses and dirty drapes on the windows. We were very disappointed-esp. since I passed up other cheaper hotels to stay at Comfort Suites University Area Notre Dame - South Bend. I hope the new owners are reading this. Please keep the current employees when you take over ownership. They are the only positive this sorry place has going for it.

Bed was broken, no linens in room for pull out sofa, electrical plugs didn’t work, breakfast was horrible. Visited during Notre Dame graduation weekend and hotel decided it was a great time to paint all the hotel room doors and halls. Overall a horrible experience.
