Nice but needs a lot of updating
The room size was great, the beds were comfortable, loved the private sitting area, nice included breakfast with lovely serving help, beautiful ground BUT.....The shower never produced hot water, at best lukewarm to cool. There was only one small trash container in the bathroom, the room needs an extra one of a kitchen size one. Lots of rust and peeling paint due to moisture.Smokers on the balcony beside It could be so lovely if it received some love. I'm sure it's like all things right now, funding for state parks is limited.

Whole cabin, price was ok
Location was good, cabins are close to eachother. Outside of the cabin had some siding rot, cabin itself was clean and came with plates etc. Biggest issue was finding the lodge to check in. Ya blink once you miss the sign. Restaurant was ok, wifi DOES NOT WORK AT THE CABINS. T.v barely wanted to cast. The lodge had great signal. I only stayed 1 night so maybe its because it was rainy the wifi didnt work, either way that was stressful.
Being a State Park, The lodge was somewhat institutional, but absolutly in a beautiful place. They also have a tavern and dining room and the staff are very nice and add to the uniqueness of the property. Already planning our return trip!

Terrible customer service
We arrived at 3 pm for check in. Get to room and turn heat on because it’s cold. It’s only blowing cold air after 3 hours of running. It is literally 60 degrees in our room. Call front desk and soneoneone comes down to check it. She argues with us that we just need to let it run to get warm because it’s a geothermal unit. Fine! We let it run for another hour and it’s progressively getting colder because it’s blowing COLD air. Call again and the same lady comes down and finally admits that it isn’t getting warm after being VERY condescending. She said she would contact maintenance to look at it Saturday morning. It’s so cold that we had to sleep in our clothes and winter coat Friday night. Saturday morning we get up to hike early, so I swing by office to make sure that maintenance was coming by to check our heat. Of course, the lady from night before did absolutely NOTHING, no maintenance notes at all for our room. I ask the guy to please send maintenance. We get back around 3:00 pm. Haven’t heard from hotel at all during day. Heat still isn’t fixed so I go BACK to front desk and they tell me that heat is broken (no kidding). She gives me ZERO options (no more rooms). I had to argue with her to contact a manager for a discount. Meanwhile we have to drive 35 min to Jackson Ky Walmart to buy sweat suits and blankets so we don’t freeze to death. $100 each for that purchase. Sunday morning we check out and they only gave us a discount for Saturday night only
Lovely property with great hiking access from the grounds. Will definitely return.

Sadly not what it used to be like. My wife and I were in the area on business and we stayed in a cottage for a night, which I used to do occasionally when I came to the Red River Gorge to hike. It's pretty bare bones these days. not much furniture and signs of needed updating and maintenance. Trouble with the TV (finally got it to work, but probably couldn't repeat the process), and the refrigerator was dripping water inside. Contact with the staff was cordial but ineffective. They did offer us a lodge room if we wanted to move. It is (was) a lovely park lodge but obviously the govt is sucking whatever it makes into the general fund. The surrounding area is still quite pleasant although the trails are more crowded than they used to be.
The heat didn't work in our room. The first desk clerk wasn't able to help. The second one brought us old blankets with lots of holes in them and tried to get it going, but only managed to turn the fan on, which made it even colder. The room floor was concrete with a thin layer of carpet, which makes for a very hard floor. Great scenery though.
most everything was very good, however one thing was very annoying the HVAC system when heating room would heat then switch itself to AC and cool room that was just heated and set for heat only. I brought it to attention of front desk and they told me it's geothermal and does that but not sure as electric heating coils visible in duct in room. Happy with all else and all very clean.
Natural Bridge Park cabins smelled musty & moldy. It was marginally clean. Furniture old & smelled. Bath reasonably clean

Very scenic view from cabin. Good breakfast. Lots of activities nearby and excellent trails. Access to cabins requires carrying your items up many steps…39 steps for us. I would suggest seniors stay in lodge

Weekend trip to Eastern Kentucky
This hotel is a mountain lodge. It was very comfortable. Ok on cleanliness. The balcony of the room was like to were in the middle of the forest, very relaxing to sit and have a cocktail or coffee. I loved the fact that it was very close to hiking trails to the natural bridge. You can just walk out your door from the hemlock lodge and the trails are right in the parking lot behind the lodge. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was good also. I would definitely stay here again

Linens and towels and bathroom were clean and sanitary but floors were filthy. They hadn't turned A/C on for season so room was too hot. Front desk folks were not friendly at all. Free breakfast was good. Room was dated. Grout discolored and worn in bathroom. Spotty wifi. I wouldn't go back.
