I like the historic home atmosphere. The new owners have made improvements to make guests feel more at home. The breakfast was very good, not too fancy. If you have mobility issues, this might not be the place for you. Most rooms are upstairs (narrow staircase). The shared bathroom is small and has a clawfoot tub on a raised platform. We only stay one night when we stay here because my husband can't get in the tub. But that is what you get when you stay in a historic house. We love it here.

This historic home was just perfect for us. Matt was a great host. Wonderful hot breakfast with pancakes, eggs and sausage. Good location. Wonderful premises, perfect for enjoying the peacefulness. Would definitely recommend!

I love the old charm & ambience of the place, very homey. Matt & his wife Mickey are very welcoming couple & shared to us the history of the place. The whole place is so clean & quiet. Highly recommended.

A taste of history served with a big smile

The Alma House is a wonderful option for Silverton lodging. It's unique -- glorious historic Victorian building and furnishings, extremely friendly and helpful staff, great views, etc. The breakfasts are great and I really enjoy Matt & Micki's down to earth vibe.

Classic old west mining hotel. The history of the home is amazing. Both Matt and Mocha, a golden retriever made our stay lovely. Homemade breakfast personally prepared and served by Matt was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again!

Historical bed & breakfast

This place is absolutely amazing! Matt the owner was very friendly, helpful & informative. Matt told us that as far as he knew most of the furniture was original to the hotel. This place was built in 1902. The beds are not from this time period and that is a good thing. The one that we had was firm. The back yard is amazing with plants, swings, outdoor chairs & a hot tub. One of the best surprises for us were the three dogs that live on the property. All are very well behaved & mind their manors. We had breakfast every morning prepared by Matt & his wife. We had a great stay!

Excellent Victorian lodging that compliments Silverton's history. Very clean, quiet, great breakfast. Great private yard with hot tub, fire pit, tables and chairs. Room was very comfortable, but shared bathroom was rather cramped. Next time would get a room with a bathroom.
