Remember the glory days, and want them back.
The hotel is very dated. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms and upgrading the facilities. Unfortunately we were not privileged to have an updated room. The bed was quite uncomfortable and lumpy and the bathroom had paint peeling off the bathtub. The faucet in the vanity including the stopper did not work well. The shower Head sprayed sideways. That being said when we asked to have things fixed the maintenance staff were terrific. The front desk staff were terrific. They got these things scheduled for the maintenance staff to get it done. It is difficult to write a review from both sides of the coin. One being the overall facilities, which were poor and the overall service which was terrific. I believe the Madison Hotel will be returned to its former glory but right now it is not where it needs to be. I look forward to the renovated rooms in the future. Whether this is a part of it or not the restaurant Rods was not good. My friend and I each ordered the Madison cut a prime rib and we could not believe how tough it was. For prime meat this was not acceptable. I also ordered a dessert via room service. I asked to pay cash for it and when the server brought it and I paid cash I thought we were all done. Upon checking out I found a charge for the ice cream and a tip added. Not cool.
