Our room was separated from the main building We were in the building with rooms 40 thru 49. It seems that these rooms were recently renovated. They were clean albeit somewhat spartan . As I said it was very clean and that's what is most important to my spouse. It's close to downtown and within crawling distance from a great outside bar and an outstanding breakfast place. We go to that area pretty often but this is our first stay at Sea View. The price is right and we go back again.

Not sure where the good reviews came from

The room had a bit of a smell, the blanket arrangement on the bed put the sheet ON TOP of the blanket instead of under (weird), the shower drain wouldn’t keep up with the shower so standing water pooled, and there were some bugs. I was on the ground floor and the ceiling was so thin that the upstairs room guests walking around both kept me up late and woke me up early. The price was good, but you get what you pay for.

This was a great place to stay for the price. It’s in walking distance to the downtown area. The staff member checking us in was very friendly and kind. I’ll definitely be back.

The room had an outlet the was hanging out of the wall which posed a safety concern. The hair dryer was missing the on off buttons. In order to use it, you needed to plug it in but then you still can't adjust temp. The AC unit wasn't strong enough and was blowing out a black substance causing the ceiling to appear black. When we looked at the a/c unit closer it was covered in mildew(hoping it wasn't mold) this would explain why we were experiencing weird symptoms like itchy eyes, runny nose, coughing, and sneezing that got better when we left the room(I took pictures). I love a hot shower but the hot water temperature was dangerously high. I closed the curtain and it fell off the runner.

Fixer upper?

The gentleman who logged us in was very nice. Appears they are renovating. The room was good looking and the wood floors were very nice but the paint work was amateurish. The tub (wouldn't drain) and toilet (intermittently running) needs to be repaired. The air conditioning was spitting out some black funk. The bathroom light was full of bugs.

We stayed in the 2 queen bedroom which appears more modernly renovated indoors. Walls are quite thin, but other than that very pleasant stay for the price with proximity to downtown Ogunquit.

I would have liked to have had information about the room heater option. We did not know that there was one in the room or how to control it. Also, unfortunately, the people in the room next door to us (we were 47; they were 48) were very loud and talked loudly, too. Otherwise, I loved the closeness to Ogunquit Center (walking distance), and the staff was friendly. Oh, Also, even though the parking spots next to the building were blacked out, two people decided to park there anyway, and made it difficult to back up in the parking lot. Thank you for a nice stay.

Basic ... and needs some love

Fine, clean ... but needs MAJOR updating. It was October and no plans to swim but pool was gross-looking green. Best thing was location. Easy walk to Ogonquit shops and restaurants. But really, buy a can of paint and spruce the place up!

Surprised by Ogunquit

A proper old school seaside motel which was just what we wanted. Just 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and 3 minutes from the beach. Great cafes, restaurants and bars, the locals were very friendly. The Greenery cafe, almost next door does amazing breakfasts, don't be surprised to wait for a table

“Sea view” is a stretch - perhaps there is a view, but not from any place we were. The property is clean, but old. No elevator. Our room had lumpy mattresses and was clean but very tired furnishing. It does have a great spot for lunch or breakfast within easy walk. We would not stay there again.
