Our visit to the Thorn Hill INn couldn't have been better. Our room was meticulous and comfortable. The view from the room was an expansive view of the mountains. We dined at the inn both nights and our meals were top notch. James and Ed our bartender were pleasant and the mixed drink James made me was outstanding. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will be back soon!

Comfortable stay in the Mt. Webster room. Warmly welcomed upon arrival by the pleasant inn owner. Spacious, very, very clean room with excellent bed and linens. Quiet for an older building. Dinner menu and breakfast menu was great. Service was wonderful. You can tell the inn staff truly care for this inn, inside and out, by the cleanliness and salted walkways and plowed parking lot. While we were there we learned that this inn is the only Michelin rated in NH and we can see why. Out favorite parts were the fire place, library, breakfast, and spa tub.

We stayed at the Notch cottage. Amazing room and breakfast! Dinner was delicious (especially the duck! Must try!), though we were put at a tiny high top right in front of the entrance of the restaurant because we arrived at 8:30 and they closed the dining area. That was the only thing that kind of threw me off, otherwise the stay was perfect.

The stay was just “Okay.” For the price and the reputation we were expecting a luxury boutique hotel experience and that was lacking. Check in is at 3 but we couldn’t get into the room until 3:30. The lounge doesn’t open until 4:30 so we were left to sit in the library. There is no luggage room or coat room so our bags and dry cleaning were stacked in a corner. Ordered room service which arrived in plastic to go containers rather than plated, poor presentation. The view of Mount Washington from the Presedential Suite is amazing though, and the Fillet was quite good. All in all both the Inn and the restaurant Forty at Thorn Hill were okay but we wouldn’t go back.
