would expect more for cost - next time Holiday Inn

very rundown- needs updating. Nice friendly desk staff. Clean. odd musty/mildewy smell- guessing carpet, linens, drapes need updating. room a/c works well, room includes small fridge & microwave. TV very small. Holiday Inn Express right nextdoor is better rate snd looks much newer and updated. Wish we had seen that rate before booking here. Gal at Subway said her parents had stayed here and liked it. No ice machine or vending on our floor.

There’s really only a few things you need from a roadside hotel… safety, a good night sleep, and a good shower. We received none of the three at this horrible hotel. My husband and I travel a lot and roadside hotels are very hit or miss. This one was definitely a huge miss! First of all we couldn’t get in the door because the door lock didn’t work properly and we were never really sure if it was locked when we left. They said no one would be in our room until day 3 but someone was definitely in our room the first day because the A/C was set differently when we got back. That was very unsettling. The walls were so paper thin our neighbors talking and TV kept us up all night (and I don’t think they were even talking very loudly). We could hear everything not to mention the A/C unit rarely kicked on. And the worst part of all… there was absolutely ZERO water pressure. I could not wash my hair because I knew I’d never get the soap out. There wasn’t even enough water pressure coming directly out of the tub faucet to lay down in the tub and wash my hair under there. I had to take my shower bag to my mother-in-laws house to wash my hair. I mean really? What’s is point of this hotel?! On top of all that the room decor and amenities of this hotel have not been updated since the 80’s. They draw you in with photos of their recently updated lobby, but don’t let that fool you. The rooms are crud! Water damaged ceilings, cracked sink, no USB’s anywhere, etc, etc, etc. Do not stay here!

Nice, needs attention

The hotel is our favorite stay on the South and back home every year. However it is in need of updates. Our carpet was barely attached by the bathroom door, the ceiling tile trim was rusted. The staff is very nice but breakfast doesnt start until 8. Most people want to be on the road by then. We were able to get coffee.

It was ok the rooms need some upgrades. The laundry room doesn't have any chairs o has gotten one from the pool area which was right down the hall not very far at all and the guy from the front desk came and told me that I needed to put the chair back it wasn't aloud for me use it on the laundry area. The washer took 45 mins and the dryer took 60mins. It was very unpleasant waiting. There was only 3 people in the pool area and 2 was in the pool and there was several chairs it wasn't like I was taking it away from anyone. The air vent in the bathroom squealed when we turned on the light that was unpleasant. The beds waa not comfortable and there was hair in the bathtub and we could barely get the remote to the television to work...

We stay here often while visiting my daughter at college. The downstairs rooms have rust around the ceiling in the bathroom. The upstairs rooms seem to be in the best shape. As always, breakfast is pretty good for a budget hotel. Staff is always nice and helpful.

MUCH better experience this time. Our room was clean and no obvious visible signs of wear and tear. The sweet lady working the breakfast area is the best! She is so helpful and gave some great suggestions on how to make fun shapes with the waffles. She was attentive and made breakfast a great experience!
